Nice crowd the “fair and balanced” network attracts:
The Fox News Facebook page got over 8,000 death threats posted on its wall after the Communications Director for the American Atheists, Blair Scott, appeared on the network’s “America Live” discussing the group’s lawsuit hoping to stop the erection of a crucifix at the World Trade Center Memorial.
The admins of Fox’s Facebook page worked furiously to delete the hateful posts…
Yeah, but somebody got screen shots!
More where that came from at the above link.
Real Christian ‘Murkans are such a delightful group…

This is what American christianity has become – its followers suffer from severe hatred of others and a lack of education beyond junior high school.
Pathetic excuse for religion. It seems that some major strains of Christianity have devolved into a hateful cult that prays to guns and worships hate — in the name of a guy named Christ, who has little in common with his followers.
I get the impression from a lot these hateful comments that some (many) of these people are like closeted gays who attack the rest of us. In other words, the extreme vitriol of it makes me wonder if they have doubts about their own beliefs and go nutso when confronted with a challenging voice. I follow a religion, but have always said I’ll take a kind-hearted agnostic/atheist any day over a religious zealot. I probably dislike them even more than you do because they make the rest of us look bad.
I also think it is totally inappropriate to erect a crucifix at the WTC just as it was when those Polish nuns wanted to erect a crucifix at Auschwitz (that one was particularly insensitive). I hope the atheists win that lawsuit.
This may be my favorite (from the page Evan linked to):
“these people are f’ing scum of the earth. can we start killing them now? few groups are filled with more hatred than atheists.”
Self-awareness is an alien concept to these people.
Christian love, Christian love – ya gotta love it!
I get the distinct impression that a lot of these people missed their Sunday lessons. AND they then why no one wants to listen to them. Whatever happened to “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”? Such hatred spewing from the beloved of God; the saved ones; the devotees of Christ and His love. All noise; no substance – Christian love at it’s best.
as i’ve often said, gianni–
It isn’t love. It’s narcissism.
Gary you hit the nail on it’s head!
The only thing that surprised me is that one of the posters knows how to spell gauge.
Gary, I think you are so correct in your assesment of these people.
They know, deep down, that there is no god, but are desperate to hang on to the comforting self delusion because they cannot bear to face this life on their own and need some imagined father figure to hold their hand and absolve them of any true responsibility.
@ Richard Rush –
I loved that comment too, I even laughed out loud. It seems irony is an even more alien concept than self awareness
