Jamie and I are preparing for the hurricane that will likely hit Vermont as a tropical storm on Sunday. I know much of the Truth Wins Out community is in the path of this monster. I wish my many friends in New York City and DC metro areas (I’ve lived in both places for many years) luck with the storm.
Please keep the TWO community updated with what is happening with the storm as it barrels up the East Coast like Porno Pete running towards a bathhouse with half-price lockers.

As a citizen of Colorado I don’t really have to worry about hurricanes. But I have been watching the news reports on the east coast with growing apprehension. I’m not a praying man but I send my thoughts and hopes for your safety and for everyone in the path of this storm.
The thoughts and prayers of my husband and myself are with everyone out there on the East Coast.
BTW, loved the “Porno Pete” allusion, Wayne.
Trevor, hope you don’t live around Trinidad…whole lotta shakin’ goin’ on over there of late!
So how long will it take for someone to blame us for the hurricane?
Qwerty, I think they already have.
Best of luck to those in Irene’s path.
I live in upstate New York, and inland from the coast. We didn’t get hit as hard as New York City. Some flooding in the basement, and one small tree in the front yard fell. We lost poweer for about five or ten seconds. Beyond that we were really lucky.
I see VT has the worst flooding in 75 years—good luck to you guys. Parts of Jersey got hit hard, but fortunately where I am, we pretty much lucked out; only lost power for 1 hour yesterday afternoon. The roads are a mess though with lots of flooding in low lying areas, but of course our *republican* governor hasn’t closed the state offices.
It’s good that the hurricane was far less destructive than feared. I hope everyone got through it without too much harm.
I can’t wait until the fundie pundies start blaming the hurrinace on New York’s adoption of gay marriage.
As long as they spew their nonsense, I humbly propose that Gia was pissed of at New York for all the resources it consumes, or for having a huge disparity of income, or for wearing white after labor day or…you get the idea.
Reese, I think it’s already started. Though it seems like if God was trying to punish us for gay marriage he’d be hitting New York more and the Carolinas less.
