As Pat so wisely says in this video, “Halloween is the night when witches and goblins.” Seriously, he develops that thought no further. Also, it is Satan’s night, etc.

Of course Samhain–(pronounced sowl-win) which means ‘summer’s end’ has nothing to do with Satan; is the old Celtic/Wiccan New Years eve when the ‘veil between the worlds’ is thin and the spirits of dead loved ones could return and celebrate with them. The not so nice spirits could also be abroad on that night so steps were taken (like jack-o-lanterns) to scare them away.
It became Halloween (the Eve of All Saints Day) when Christianity took over and brought Satan with them. Of course everything associated with the Pagan holy day was painted demonic. The rest as they say is history.
Robertson is as crazy and stupid as Halloween BAT s**t.
“Like the dead rising … churches shouldn’t do that.” -Pat Robertson.
Isn’t the the dead rising one of the key points of their religion?
*facepalm*
*headdesk*
The stupid, it burns!
They seriously need to brief Pat before hitting him with these things on camera. Don’t believe in ghosts? Well, what about the Holy Ghost – the third person in the trinity of God? Don’t believe in the dead rising? Jesus resurrected Lazarus and He, himself, rose from the dead. Part of the rapture is for the dead who are saved to rise. Seriously, these statements highlight for me just how intertwined are religion and folk lore. One is magic and superstition; the other is holy and miraculous. Hmmm…………
@ WMDKitty –
“The Stupid, it burns!” LMAO! :D
@ Pat –
“We don’t believe in ghosts” – Umm, are you forgetting The Holy Spirit?
“The dead rising… Churches shouldn’t do that.”
Umm, so you’ve not heard of Lazarus? Jesus?
Witness, people, the onset of senility.
