Earlier this year, Chick-fil-A became embroiled in a controversy surrounding its donations to anti-gay groups. Though Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy denied having an “agenda against anyone,” an Equality Matters investigation discovered that Chick-fil-A donated more than $1 million to anti-gay causes between 2003 and 2008.
Now, new IRS 990 forms reveal that the company donated nearly two million dollars to anti-gay groups in 2009 alone, the most recent year for which public records are available.
I embarrassed to say that I went to eat at this restaurant one time out of a burning curiosity to try anti-gay chicken. But I’m not going back — especially after reading this report that gave me a latent case of indigestion.
Please tell your friends and family to go to KFC, Popeye’s or even raise their own chickens — anything but spending dough on this “restaurant” that is looking more like a front for funneling money directly into the hands of rabidly anti-gay organizations. The owner’s charitable arm even gave $1,000 to the “ex-gay” sham group Exodus International.

I’d bet my paycheck that these cold-blooded fascist scumbags get all their chickens from the worst kind of cruel factory farms. They probably really do ‘fillet’ live chicks too.
As person concerned about animal welfare Wayne, I have to tell you that YUM Foods (owner of KFC) has had a very poor record in the past in regards to animal welfare (http://www.yuminvestors.com/). I also understand that their CEO is a very conservative christian which usually doesn’t bode well for anything GLBT or progressive, though I do not have a source at my fingertips.
Thanks Paul, good to know. I like Popeyes.
Popeyes FTW. Their chicken is always awesome.
1. Preheat pot of vegetable oil to approx. 350 F.
2. Cut whole chicken along bone joints in to desired pieces. De-bone if desired.
3. Prepare a shallow pan with all purpose flour seasoned with sea salt, white pepper, garlic powder, and any other desired herbs and spices.
4. Cover chicken pieces in seasoned flour.
5. Drop into hot oil. Depending on size, 3 to 5 minutes if de-boned or 12-18 if bone-in.
6. Drain in perforated basket and/or paper towels.
7. No LGBTQs are harmed with this simple recipe. And it’s damn good, too.
Bonus: This recipe totally won my wife over on my cooking :D
