Why is Rick Santorum running for President of the United States of America?
He clearly has contempt for the U.S. Constitution which the President swears to uphold. He believes that the Bible has supremacy over the Constitution which amounts to theocracy. His greatest wish is for this nation to cease being a land of liberty, justice, and freedom.
Instead, it appears that he would love for America to transform into a barbaric and backwards Christian version of Iran. Presumably, he would like to lead this social, moral, legal, and economic monstrosity that would drag America into the gutter.
Is Rick Santorum flirting with tyranny and treason?
Any politician that promotes theocracy in this nation is not patriotic. They are profoundly unAmerican and should be portrayed as such by the media and culture. We spend a lot of time and money worrying about external threats. We must also be reminded that America can be destroyed from within by disloyal “patriots” who cynically wrap themselves in the flag, yet plot to replace our current legal system with a form of “Christian Sharia.”
In fact, “Christian Sharia” is what we should start calling the twisted plans of extremists who believe that the U.S. Constitution is an obstacle to their dominion over America. Sharia does not work in Muslim dominated countries and it will not work here. Ask Iran’s citizens how much they like their mullahs.
Mr. Santorum and others of his ilk should understand that they will never realize their dream of undermining and overthrowing America as long as real patriots are alive and breathing to oppose such sedition.

“Christian Sharia”, that’s a good description of it. Must be horribly difficult for intelligent Christians to reconcile their belief in the dominance of the Bible as interpreted by bozos like this man and the Constitution of the United States of America. They constantly try to marry the two together, but the Constitution is what gave us the rights we have in this human society. Whatever the personal and/or religious beliefs of the framers, they formed a government of, by, and for the people – very human set-up. The Bible and/or its interpretations DO NOT take precedence over the Constitution or any law in this land. Boy, do clods like this hate that fact.
Christian Sharia is more explicit, but I think dominionism is a more accurate lable for what it is. Or Christofacism. Let’s use that one.
Dominionism just doesn’t stick. And anything with fascism just reminds people of Hitler.
I think Christian Sharia is what is easiest to explain. Why? Because it shows how undesirable life is when the state is run by religion. It also has the luxury of a modern day example — Iran — which has undermined both the religion and the state.
“Theocratic dingleberries” works for me.
I’m sure he’d be all for Christian Sharia if the flogging was replaced with spankings.
I prefer “Christian Sharia” because it highlights the hypocrisy of many Christians fear-mongering about Sharia while simultaneously advocating for their own brand of Sharia here.
@Gianni – You are half right. For thinking Christians, the Bible is a “canon”, a set of writings by which one can discern faith. This is perhaps best reflected in the current program of the United Church of Christ: “God Is Still Speaking”. In terms of civil law, most who are progressive realize that in a pluralistic society, their tenants of faith end as they step out the church door; which is not to say that their sense of morality/ethics are invalid in the public square.

I like “Christian Sharia” promulgated by the “Christian Taliban”. It gets the point across rather well, I think.
I do agree with some of the terms used by the others… my personal favorites are “religious reicht”, and “totalitarian theocracy”.
No matter what the term, it’s still the same — a select cabal of religious fanatics degenerates. They suffer from the delusion that they and *only* they are the sole arbiters of morality.
They have the perverted belief that the country would return to greatness if they were able to run the country, regressing society as it was back before the black got uppity, women got liberated, and the fags and dykes came out of the closet.
Anyone who speaks of replacing a countries constitution with another set of laws is guilty of treason. 100, 200 years ago this man would have been jailed and/or executed.
What the hell is wrong with these clowns? Do they not hear themselves speak, or think about what they say?

I agree – you’ve hit the nail on the head.
