This kid?
Or their dogma?
You tell me what’s more valuable.

The worst thing is, they’ll NEVER get it. Ever. Show them this video, and they’ll look for some way to blame this on pro-gay rights groups.
Well, Bill S, the fundies will say “if he didn’t act gay, if people didn’t think he was gay, then they wouldn’t bully him – so it’s HIS fault!” (even if he isn’t gay). Sigh…how naive they are; I guess bullying won’t hit them over the head until kids who are perceived as Christians are bullied too (even if the kids aren’t Christian).
As for me, I just want to wrap this kid up in my arms and never let pain or harm touch him again. Although as a cis-gendered gay male I’ve never really yearned to have children, it’s this kind of b******t that makes me want to provide a home for a child in circumstances like this.
Does anyone know who this kid is and how he is doing? My heart just breaks for him and I wish I could reach out to him.

Joe.my.god had a link earlier today to an updated video (about 42 seconds long) on YouTube that was made by Jonah just a few days ago, but the link doesn’t work anymore. Jonah removed it himself, and I don’t blame him; the vitriol that was being thrown at him – and those who posted supporting him – on the YouTube comment section were awful. So I’m guessing that is why he removed it.
In the video, though, Jonah is smiling a lot, beaming at times. He thanked everyone profusely for their support and briefly called out a few haters who claimed that HE WAS FAKING IT IN THE VIDEO ABOVE, just doing it for attention. Anyway, he was quite a different person, looked somewhat to a great deal happier, than he did in the above video. You know things have to be REALLY bad for a 13/14 year old boy to cry….
Life isn’t important to these “pro-life” anti-gay activists unless it’s a heterosexual fetus. Which of course goes against everything Jesus taught.

But it still won’t matter, because they’ll act as though they’re uniquely oppressed, and blame it on us.
PhilipJ, it’s more likely they’ll blame gay activism for “confusing” him, and continue to brainlessly parrot a push for “reparative therapy” for a kid who’s been bullied since the first grade.
The solution will always be for gay kids, or perceived-to-be gay kids (from the video we can’t be sure which category Jonah falls into) to CHANGE. The solutions is never, EVER changing the hearts of bullies. Especially if that requires telling them that gay people deserve to live.
You have to remember, these are people who object to having children vaccinated against HPV, a virus that causes cancer, because it can be transmitted sexually. There’s no way to reason with such people.
He has another channel with more recent uploads – with friends. Mainly belting out lip-sync pop songs – Katy Perry etc.
I suspect the August video, pre-start of new year at school, was a low point but nonetheless authentic in terms of what he was feeling. It was a catharsis as he himself said in the main tag for this video.
It’s up to 2m views with Likes at about 99%.
The hate in the comments is something terrible.
I watched the video yesterday when JMG posted it on Facebook. I think the point that these haters miss is WHEN the video was made. From what i gather the video was made in August…this is December. So from the period between August and December things may have improved for him. So I don’t think that Jonah FAKED the video to get attention at all.
I do journalism and journaling as a hobby. Whatever big significant event has occurred in my life is what i write on that day. So when people or myself look back on it I can say “Wow, I can’t believe how things have improved from that day to now.” So perhaps on August when that video was made, Jonah was feeling pretty sad and low. I don’t think he was panning for attention…he was putting himself out there to let people know what was going on with his life. And I feel that it’s insulting for those kids who say that he is faking it and that if he wasn’t such an “emobitch” and stop whining about his life then perhaps people would not make fun of him.
I especially took umbrage with the one kids 20 second video on youtube(wish I had his screen name so that you guys could comment on it) He basically said “That little faggots video…well, it’s a fake and he’s a liar.” Let me just say, this kid has no room to talk because he looks a bit nerdish and pimply himself…perhaps a victim of bullying himself now turning into the bully. If I come across it, I’ll post it.
The above video absolutely did not seem fake at all. If those tears were fake, he’s a great actor. The movements of the muscles in his face before he started to cry were quite genuine.
I don’t know why so many kids at that age are so damn cruel. I can honestly say I never was, being gay, I always felt sorry for the underdogs and the kids who didn’t fit in and were picked on.
[...] other day a video from a young kid named Jonah Mowry, where he told the story of the relentless bullying he experiences on a daily basis, went viral. [...]
Oh God! What a tear jerker this is.
It makes me sick to my stomach that some slimy jerks accuse him of faking it. I’ve cried enough myself to know real pain and tears when I see it.
I’m happy to know he is doing better and getting support from others in the gay community.
You go, Jonah! You’re a winner as you showed at the end of the video.
