You’ll need to turn the captions on this one, because this little boy is very quiet, perhaps sensing the low character of the ogre in front of him.
Oh yes. She is indeed a terrible human being.

How do you turn on captions?
@R: There is a “CC” icon in the lower portion of the YouTube screen which toggles captions.

Oh, what a b***h. Also, the way she grabbed at the kid was just creepy.
Counting down to when this video will be used by the far right as proof gay activists use children to push their agenda.
Bachmann – 0 Toddlers Telling Crazies Off – 1
What a heartless response. A setup maybe but still…. she couldn’t wait to get rid of him.
I wonder what she was expecting to hear him say? “You are a pwetty wady and I wuv you?” The expression on her face when she finally does hear what the little guy has to say to her speaks volumes! And to dismiss him that way, says far more about her than I needed to know. Amazing, but not at all unexpected. She’s just too stupid to ‘get it’
Sorry, but I really don’t like it when grown-ups use kids as tools, no matter how righteous the purpose. Think Westboro Baptist.
Wayne at Westboro Baptist the little children hold “God hates fags” signs and admit they don’t know what a fag is or what this is all about – they are being used as tools. Its a given that this child knows his mother is same sex attracted and likely that he heard about how Bachman thinks his mother is broken and bad and he said himself he’d like to tell bachman that that isn’t true. His mother may have made it possible for the child to confront Bachman and encouraged him to carry through with it, but I think its likely that the message was the child’s own idea.
When she pulled the child toward her, I thought I saw in her eyes a look, like she was going to dislocate her jaw eat him in one gulp.
What a monster.
(I do agree with Wayne though, that kids should not be used to make a political point, no matter how fervently I might agree with that point.)
I think Wayne does have a point. Kids of a certain age can be advocates if they have the activist personality — as long as they are not forced by their parents. But the particular kid in this video looked very uncomfortable. The optics weren’t good — it looked as if his mom forced him to approach Bachmann.
Michelle is who she is and this is politics. However, the mother should not have ever used her child like this to make her own political statement. That is awful. I absolutely hate it when children are used to make social/political statements and have absolutely no understanding of the issues. They ARE children.
Yeah, I definitely appreciate the concerns of Wayne and Dan Savage and others, which can basically be summed up as “Guys, don’t put your kids up to that s**t.”
That said, it’s already happened and her reaction was newsworthy.
Of course the boy knows his mom is gay. But to believe this little fellow follows politics, knows who Bachmann is and what she has said, and further, found out that this Bachmann lady was appearing at a book signing, and then told his mom he wanted to go and see this Bachmann woman and give her a piece of his mind, all on his own, is a bit far fetched. I could, of course, be wrong.
