Wayne Besen is the Founding Executive Director of Truth Wins Out and author of “Anything But Straight: Unmasking the Scandals and Lies Behind the Ex-Gay Myth” (Haworth, 2003). In 2010, Besen was awarded the “Visionary Award” at the Out Music Awards for organizing the American Prayer Hour, an event which shined a spotlight on the role American evangelicals played in the introduction of Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Bill.
This woman obviously isn’t aware of the mounting evidence from medical science, that constantly having your brain banged around inside the skull like that, like it does from sports such as boxing, soccer and football can cause serious damage to the brain. She’s obviously either already crazy or doing a total Elmer Gantry con job on those people.
This is what I grew up in. My family still follows Stacey Campbell’s “ministry” to this day. That sect of Christianity is so jacked up. I’m so glad I’ve come out of it.
She’s nuts. Needs to take her meds.
What I find sad are all the “regular” Christians who dismiss these more flaming exemplars their religion, while completely failing to recognize the irrationality of their own core dogma. Just sayin’….
I’m really curious about how she came upon the idea that the incessant head shaking was a good idea for getting the fools’ money. Every evangelical/fundie preacher has to have a gimmick. Jimmy Swaggart cried all the time. God was going to “take” Oral Roberts “home” if he didn’t come up with a million in a set time. Obviously, the more silly and idiotic one acts while preaching, the more believable one is. This one is a true loony-toon.
And there are people out there that take this s**t seriously?
