So this ad from Exodus International is running in newspapers in Trinidad and Jamaica right now. It’s indicative of their troubles at home that the only places they feel like they’ll get any bang for their buck are already among the most homophobic nations on earth:

What scum they are. Gay people’s lives are already in jeopardy in places like Jamaica and this bogus s**t just throws fuel on the fires of ignorance and hate and violence.

They keep “reaching out” to countries where homosexuality is a crime because their hogwash isn’t selling here in the USA like it used to. They did the same thing in 2009 in Uganda.
This gets me going in a very serious way. I lived in two Caribbean countries and the homophobia is bad enough from the evangelical influence and is especially worse in the former British colonies. This kind of outside hate is not acceptable. I will do whatever it takes to combat this. There are so many GLBT brothers and sisters in these island nations who need support from us in the US. These hate groups in Africa are heinous enough but this also demands an effort to undercut their bigotry.
Exodus International is a sick organization that needs healing from its own hate..I had gone through one of their crazy ex-gay off-shoots…it was a really creepy organization. I remember one guy was dying from AIDS..they worked really hard to get him to be straight. I had the leader of the group tell me she had too have X numbers of people to change in order for her to have the church continue to pay for her Masters program…a supposely former-lesbian….she and all those that say they had changed were full of s**t….one told me she never changed just doesn’t “act out sexually anymore”…thats got to be a life of PURE HELL!!!!!!
Why is is the we can’t see the fact that organizations like Exodus are trying to help us? They have the love of Jesus in their hearts and they want us to know the Savior. They are his true agents on earth. So some of their listeners get a little hyper and angry when the fags don’t want to get the message. So some turn it into active hatred. What’s the big deal if a few fag lives are destroyed and ended? It serves the greater purpose of bringing us to the Lord. Besides, Jamaica is fertile ground. It stands to reason that you go where you have the best audience. They REALLY hate us there! They do this out of love, get with it people. Feel the love. So you have to pretend that you don’t feel what you feel for the rest of your lives. As long as the world around you sees you as straight, God’s purpose will have been served and his true servants won’t have to be troubled with real life or their neighbor’s gayness. Now THAT’S REAL love!
