You know what, I think it’s just simple grammatical error on the part of Evangelical Christians. They’ve simply mixed up their prepositions in their heads. They think freedom FROM persecution is the same as free TO persecute. Furthermore, this could be a result of many Evangelicals being home-schooled and that portion of Fifth Grade grammar was deleted from their curriculum.
