Not funny at all. I don’t think Focus even gets the point of Super Bowl ads.
So there you have it. A bunch of kids spouting off a Bible verse about inclusivity on behalf of an organization that tears apart the families of gay people for sport. Cool.
[h/t Queerty]

Looks to me like they’re simply exploiting impressionable youngsters to collected five dollars at a time. Commerce?
I just don’t even think they should be able to have a Superbowl commercial. Is nothing sacred anymore?
“Inclusivity” to radica. anti-gay pressure groups means THEY are right, THEIR views take precedence, THEY are free to make laws the rest of us must follow, THEY are superior–because they sleep with the opposite sex and gay people should be eradicated. Sadly for them, Jesus would disagree. When do pro-equality people of faith place our own ads on the Super Bowl? You fight “morality” with morality.
I will be booing this at the gathering I attend on Super Bowl Sunday.
JMG had posted someone’s rebuttal to this ad – they simply added text to the add which described FOF’s actual agenda in a simple factual way. FOF made them pull it for copyright infringement. Hopefully someone will find a way to get it back up, because it was spot on. Below is the link to the JMG post:

ahem they added text to the AD. I can spell. really.
Did they make up this ad themselves or did they pay some company to come up with it? At any rate, it was a total waste of money, because the ad stinks! Talking M&Ms or the gecko with the British accent have more appeal. Besides, why do they think a bunch of (mostly) men drunk on beer and stuffed with chips and pizzas would be at all receptive to a 10 second religious sound bite being spouted by kids who don’t even know what it means. FOF is consistently out of touch with reality.
Corny.
Look on the bright side, at least it is a theological message and not a gay bashing message. This is a big improvement for this group that used to wallow in the pray away the gay nonsense.
If they want to run this message, more power to them.
You want equality for everyone right? Well then Focus on the Family has just as much right to have a commercial as any other group of people!
And by the way, it’s not gay bashing…. it’s called biblical principle. Most people want to believe only the bible verses that they like and agree with and leave out the rest. Unfortunely it doesn’t work that way, even though you would like it to.
Harilene,
“it’s not gay bashing…. it’s called biblical principle”
No, it’s not “biblical principle,” it’s the Bible used as a sledge hammer.
“Most people want to believe only the bible verses that they like and agree with and leave out the rest. Unfortunely [sic] it doesn’t work that way, even though you would like it to.”
So I assume that, just like God, you are okay with slavery.
And if you have a rebellious son, I hope you follow the biblical remedy:
Deuteronomy 21:18-21: “18 If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him, 19 his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town. 20 They shall say to the elders, “This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a profligate and a drunkard.” 21 Then all the men of his town shall stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid.”
Harilene should submit solid proof that the bible is truth and not nasty bronze-age myths written my rich males intent upon controlling society. Can you do this, Harilene? Hmmm? Until you can, your silly book will remain what it always was…FICTION. So make sure you keep it out of laws and policies that govern those of us who are not intereted in your bullsh**.
Harilene said “it’s not gay bashing…. it’s called biblical principle”
The biblical principle is to bash (and murder) gays.
Yes Harlene–and we have a right to mock Focus on the Family’s bigoted ad.
Harlene, its called bigotry, based on religion. Absolutely No different from southerners who used to (some still do) use the Bible to justify slavery and the second class staus of women (quoting chapter and verse as they did so….still did not make it right)
sorry…but, you are a bigot. Plain and simple. And that is how, going forward, you will be treated in society.
