In Tennessee they’re now considering two bills that would do little more then put another knife into the hearts of gay kids in the Tennessee public school system. The Don’t Say Gay bill is back again, along with another, even more insidious if that’s possible, which would allow a religious exception to the current anti-bullying codes. A perfect excuse then, for kids to torment their gay peers to death under the guise of freedom of religion. If you can’t make gay kids hate themselves to death, then obviously your religion is being discriminated against…

How could any religion in good conscience think it’s ok to bully people for any reason, especially children?! Oh, I forgot, fundamentalists *have no conscience*.

Gary, they lie to themselves and tell themselves its not bullying, its “encouraging gay kids to be good christians and go to heaven”. Another example of how religion makes good people evil.

There’s one quick and easy way to get that “religious exception” removed. Have a few people bully Christians, using their own “deeply held religious beliefs” as a defense.

What about the religious beliefs of gay and pro-equality heterosexual students? The ones who believe homophobia is from Satan and morally repugnant? They need to march around the halls chanting and putting up posters about their religious beliefs if this becomes law. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander!

Michael, your Christianity reminds me of my long deceased great-grandma’s Christianity. She would never turn her back or insult anyone, excepted people and had time for everyone.
She’s been gone for more than thirty years and even now those who remember her come up to my Mum (her granddaughter) and say ‘your grandmother was a lady’. These include a mentally ill woman who everyone turned their backs and a gay man from the days being gay was against the law.
I wonder how these pseudo Christians will be remembered amongst their non Christian peers?

I meant, of course, accepted people, made no exception.
