He talks about all of it here. Bullying. The bigots who are going after JC Penney and Ellen DeGeneres. Teen suicide. How Rick Santorum and Michele Bachmann are the worst people in America. All of it. I don’t care whether you like Howard or not, take twelve minutes right now.

I’ve never been a Howard Stern fan, but my opinion of him just went up immensely. Thank you for posting this.
I feel exactly the same, Michael.
I have been listening to stern for a good 20 years. Back then he, along with most of comics would make fun of gays. He has long since stopped that and done a complete 180. I get it if you just don’t like his brand of comedy…but alot of the things people hate about him are things he has matured about and has worked to better himself.
Thanks, Howard. You couldn’t have said it better.
Jerry
He talks of a youtube clip of Mayor Cory Booker responding to a question about gay marriage.
He nails it!
Enjoy! :D

The important thing is that he’s a big media figure with a large following, most of which doesn’t overlap the core demographics for TBGL blogs, so he’s reaching people who need to be reached on our issues. I wasn’t thrilled with what he’s said about us in the past either, but if he’s on our side now, that is a very good thing. We don’t have to like him or ever watch or listen to him, including this video clip. (I mostly don’t watch ‘net-posted video clips, and 12 minutes is just too long.)
I really like most of this, but I wish he wouldn’t resort to misogyny: “Those women are so ugly and can’t get laid, so they take it out on gays…”.
Homophobia + misogyny are linked.
If we didn’t have women and all things feminine so much we wouldn’t be so afraid of things that seem effeminate, like homosexuality.
If we didn’t live in a patriarchy obsessed with controlling women we wouldn’t be so panicked about lesbians living without marrying men and being partnered with men.
Stern speaks the truth in this, but he should remember that it is rigid gender roles that create homophobia. His views often enforce these roles.
Sorry, That should read “if we didn’t HATE women”…
I sent him a nice thank you e-mail and also sent in a suggestion to GLAAD that they recognize him. Howard was AWSOME!!!
Thanks for the article post.Really looking forward to read more.
I really enjoy the post. Cool.
