The sad thing is that the Republican could actually
nominate this obsessed man.
Yes — it is rather scary, a political apocalypse.
then if he was to get in the White House…people better run like hell out of this country and watch from the side line and see him screw up this country worse than Bush did….now that is scareier!
It is a shame in one way; I don’t very much identify with more of the fundamentalist culture, but I will definitely vote for them, simply because I haven’t so far found as many moderate or centrist Democrats. If there was a larger contingent of socially conservative Democrats, I think that would be a better balance. I don’t entirely agree with all conservative policies, but I’m not voting for a candidate that espouses abortion as a right and tacitly endorses gay marriage.
Unfortunately, fundamentalism and social “conservatism” are inextricably linked. Also, take into account the utter failure of the latter. For instance, preaching abstinence has only led to even more teen pregnancies. For another instance, those beating the drum of defending traditional marriage are completely silent on matters such as the divorce rate, and spousal abuse (of course, the latter does not exist in their view). In other words, the reason all those candidates will fail is because they insist on fighting a war they have clearly lost. Why else would their antics become increasingly bizarre every day?
