Interestingly, Graham thinks that serial adulterer Newt Gingrich is a Christian — but not the President. The preacher also has a opinions on whether Mitt Romney is a Christian or belongs to a cult.

I don’t like any evangelicals, but I always thought his father Billy seemed to have a shred of integrity. I’m sure he didn’t ‘approve’ of us, but I never heard him attack gays or use us as scapegoats. His son has obviously thrown his hat in with the rest of the hypocritical wingnut bigots.

If we apply the ACTIONS test to leaders, Jerry Falwell was NOT a Christian. He was manipulative, coercive and fear based. PLEASE, all Christians are not like this. Many of us act like Jesus and don’t get on TV to have a voice. Contrast this with many of his father’s videos. Billy Graham exudes grace and wideness of kindness and mercy. Franklin has stepped too far into the political camp. The 80′s are back. The Moral Majority has lost membership to become the Moral Minority, but they are louder now. God, help us.

You are using your standard of “what a christian is” to rule people in or out of the inner circle just like Franklin Graham is doing. Just like muslim imams, jewish rabbis and religious folks of every stripe do ALL THE TIME. The problem with religion is it is not based on any empirical evidence, but just the set of beliefs the particular adherent happens to hold (or the state of their digestion) at the moment . Franklin Graham is particularly smarmy when you actually listen to him. How anyone can give him or his evangelistic association a plug nickel, beats me.
Franklin is a disgrace to Christianity. He must be a sad embarrassment for his father and mother. He is certainly one for folks who respect his father and respected his mother. @Paul-You hit the nail on the head about religion. Every one claiming that those people aren’t the real Christians, Muslims, etc. It is why I consider religion so dangerous. Thousands of interpretations of religious texts which each person claiming theirs’ is right whether good guy or bad guy. It is one of the many reasons I am a non-believer. If God/Allah/FSM wanted people to know what the rules are don’t you think he/she would make them clearer.
