This is pretty cool:
Today, we are excited to follow-up that announcement with the news that ten members of congress participated in the NOH8 ON THE HILL photo shoot; all of them being Democrats from the House of Representatives, including a Delegate to Congress from the District of Columbia. Representatives from Ohio, Massachusetts, California, Oregon, and Colorado took a few minutes away from the floor to pose for their NOH8 photo – making it known where they stand on equality.
“Our nation was founded upon the principle of equality. It is imperative that we work for equal rights for all in order to make that principle a reality. Love isn’t gay or straight, tall or short, black or white, it is for everyone,” said Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio’s 10th District.

This is great that these Representatives took the time to show their support. I think this is truly amazing and I very much appreciate their support.
Unfortunately, the 10 Representatives that posed for NOH8 have nothing to lose. They will be re-elected until they wish to retire, even if they posed with pictures of Pol-Pot, Chairman Mao, or Joe Stalin. I really wish that other representatives who are in more swing districts could have shown their support by posing. I think once we get 10 of those Representatives to pose for NOH8, then we will have truly achieved a milestone in our fight for equality.
But, who knows? Maybe these 10 will be the impetus to other members of Congress showing their support the same way. Here’s hoping!
It’s nice to see celebrities do this… but It’s lifting to see our representatives who actually are in positions of power do this.
