According to Delaware Online:
More than 150 same-sex couples have solemnized their relationships with civil unions since they became legal in Delaware on Jan. 1, and on Friday, Gov. Jack Markell told a New York City interviewer that same-sex marriage is “inevitable” here, probably in just a few years.
Markell, a Democrat who is vice chairman of the National Governors Association, made the remark during an interview with Reuters.
“You see what just happened in Maryland. You see what happened to Washington state. You see what happened in New York state a few months ago,” Markell told Fred Katayama, ticking off states that recently adopted same-sex marriage laws. “I mean, things are changing very quickly.”
Truth Wins Out thanks Markell for his outlook on marriage equality in Delaware. We look forward to more states siding with fairness and eventually having pro-equality states surrounding discriminatory states — until the United States has a unified policy where all people are treated equal under the law.

Yeah, but what’s gonna happen with all the bigots, especially the religios ones? Do they disappear? Do they move on to other causes? Or do they just continue to howl at the moon?
Devin, I think the true bigoted dead-enders and the non-church organizations that give them a home will become so marginalized that they will be as respectable as the KKK. But the churches will slowly change, and in fifty or so years from now they will rewrite history by claiming that they were the driving force in ending society’s persecution of gay people. That’s what religions do – they take credit for everything deemed positive, and deflect responsibility for anything deemed negative. If it takes a rewrite of history to do that, so be it.
@Devin — Oh, they’ll keep barking at the moon for a while, yet, even after we get marriage equality on a federal level. But they will age, and die, and their ideals will die with them.
They’re already howling about transgender rights. My guess is they will start getting more serious about that. So please, cis-LGBs, do not forget us…
