You see, if enough people were out there in Missouri pleading beforehand for “Jesus to still the storm,” then there just wouldn’t be all that death and destruction. “Don’t blame God for doing something foolish,” says Pat Robertson, as natural disasters are obviously the fault of the people affected by them.

Evolution and science are bad (“science leads to killing people” – Ben Stein) but when some Christians wonder why their god allowed a tornado to kill their friends and family and destroy their homes suddenly we are treated to a lesson in meteorology.
This is actually one time that I agree with Pat. It seemed like that woman was the one pushing for a “god didn’t save you because you didn’t pray enough” answer. Pat says it’s not God punishing you, it’s just the Earth doing her thing. And he’s right… If you live in an area that has a lot of tornados, don’t be surprised when there are tornados. But wasn’t Pat one of the ones that blamed Katrina on the Gays?
Yep but pat main support comes from tornado alley so they can’t be punished, but the evil gulf can.
These people, they try to reject science and use ‘faith’ to answer all their questions. What they’re really doing is making up their own science to replace the science that they don’t like because it’a about reality and disproves ideas like earth is 6,000 years old. Why do you need science to validate your faith, anyway? If you hate science and want to stick to your beliefs, then ignore it and don’t try to mix them together.
Just more Xtian “compassion”. How sad that they have to add more pain to those who have lost family and friends. My sympathies are with the victims and their families/friends.
The tornado survivor’s prayer:
“Dear God, you have demonstrated once again that you are loving, merciful, and faithful. Thank you so much for killing all those other people instead of me. Amen.”
Has he even been to Missouri? It’s like Jesusland here! If we don’t have the prayers to stop the storm here, the rest of the world is entirely screwed.
More proof that Robertson’s god is a complete sociopath.
Wow! I find I’m in agreement with Pat. It’s a natural world that does its thing according to the laws of physics. I can’t believe that he actually explained science and nature as not acts of God, but the system as it is and works. Of course, the question from one of his followers is typical: Why is GOD punishing us by using a tornado? Why does GOD do these awful things when we didn’t do anything to him? Read the old testament and you will see the same ancient, not-able-to-understand the workings of the world view. It must be GOD doing this to us. Every famine meant the people had drifted away from God. SOOOOO, the priest/leaders would exhort and extort the people to sacrifice/donate to the temples. Of course, they had absolutely no understanding of nature. Pat does, though. Too bad he hasn’t done enough to educate his followers on this.
