Wayne, I wish you would pick up and use
“genuflect to Rome”
it is great imagery. And accurate, this is what the Pope wants citizens in Free Democracies to do, genuflect to Rome. Obey Rome and Catholic beliefs.
“Genuflect to Rome” it’s catchy and it is memorable, and most people would reject being obligated to do that, and that is what we want. We want a negative association to Catholic beliefs on Civil Marriage, that we are all obligated to genuflect to the Pope.

Let me first say, not all Catholics are members of the Roman Catholic Church. I am the Presiding Bishop of the American Catholic Church, and ordinary of the Diocese of California. Here in the American Catholic Church we embrace marriage equality, in fact my husband and I were married in California August 8, 2008, during which time the State of California had marriage equality. We are hopeful this will become a reality again soon.

Secondly, I am saddened by my fellow bishop, Benedict XVI, the Bishop or Rome, as he continues to discriminate against people. His most recent comments to visiting Roman Catholic Bishops from the United States of America, is truly disheartening to us all. There is a lack of Christian charity in his comments. For all Catholics, Roman or other, there is a welcoming church home for you in the American Catholic Church. All are welcome here: http://www.AmericanCatholicChurch.org

ANYONE who is gay and STILL Catholic is a damn fool.

Simple as that. Accurate as that. No apology necessary or every forthcoming.

Move on to a better branch of Christianity that is not full of hatred of gays (and women).

No further discussion necessary (except to point out to more people what an evil, unAmerican ((what other denomination based in a microstate is trying to make laws in this country?)) , vile cult this denomination is)

Religious wackaloons, GET SECULAR!! Get educated, learn some science, history, and critical thinking. I also suggest large amounts of political science studies, and not at places like BoJo U.

Josh, you’re assuming the _traditional_ interpretation of the Bible on homosexuality is the only possible “true” one.

Are a Biblical literalist, then? Have you read some of the really strange prohibitions in Leviticus? Do you feel people who don’t honour the Sabbath should be put to death, as in Exodus 35:2? Never mind; that’s all for another day…

Amazing – the Catholic Church couldn’t be bothered to condemn the sudden church rejection of Sacramento’s homeless, but one exceptionally hateful bishop warrants special recognition from the Pointy Hatted Boss for being a good Catholic boy and beating the “Bad gays! Bad bad!!” dead horse harder than his peers.
