Today in “pro-family” land, we have Pat Robertson telling a viewer that she should not attend or participate in her sister’s lesbian wedding, and this is all part of “Christian love,” and if it ruins their relationship, that is “tough luck.”
It’s stunning to me that this passes for morality for large swaths of the population.

Pathetic.
I pity him. He has been so consumed by his own hatred that he feels pitting family members against each other is appropriate. More and more, bigotry is exposing itself for what it is.
@Aulton
He is just following sweet, gentle Jesus. See Matthew 10:34-37
“The bible is so clear about homosexuality… blah, blah, blah”. Yes the buybull is so clear about so many things! Like divorce. Like eating certain foods. LIke what menstruating women need to do. Like loving your neighbor and slaughtering the Amalekites. Like lending money at interest. Like who can be enslaved and how to treat them. Like how old the earth is and how it was created. Like how humanity came to exist. Like how concubines are supposed to be treated. Like the genealogy of Jesus.
Yes, Pat “the bible is so clear about homosexuality….”
Well said, Paul. I’ll add my two cent’s worth.
There is NOTHING clear in the Bible. It was written hundreds of years ago by ignorant people who knew NOTHING about the biological basis of homosexuality, nor much else for that matter.
Pat Robertson is CRAZY to cloak his hate as Christian “love.” If he only knew how many GLBT folks he and his ilk have driven out of Christianity! We owe them our sincere thanks for helping so many of us to see the light.

This is another sad example of false prophets redefining morality. Now we are to believe that ruining one’s realationship with a sister is not only “moral,” but a “religious belief.”
The SPLC needs to add Pat and the 700 Club to the “hate group” list too. Their words are so damaging to LGBT youth. Christ would be appalled!

You know the really neat part about tat? Maybe evan an provide the citation, because I can’t keep all tat baptist tripe in my head. But not witnessing and driving away people from being saved can land you a fireside chat…
IN HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.. (cue demonic laughter).
Wont patty be surprised when he gets to heaven expecting a warm welcome anda grandhuzzah from Jesus. And jesus says “begone from me. I never knew ye” and the next thing patty knows he frying in boiling oil wondering what he did wrong.
Correction: LGBT
Jerry
I wonder if he would have told her to boycott a sister’s wedding if she were divorced and getting re-married?–or if this were the ‘good old days’ when Pat could have been open about his disgust for inter-racial marriage and would have told her to boycott those ‘race-mixin’ marriages.
Nothing like putting religious dogma above moral principles like love, grace, charity…. Jesus would turn over in his grave.
I think the saddest part of this is the fact that anybody would seek advice on ANYTHING from Pat Robertson.

except Romans 1:26 never said “women with women” :D
I also have a sister who is a religious homophobe–and I’ve often wondered when thinking about marrying my partner if I would invite her. I would invite her children, but I don’t think I would want her at the ceremony and I know my partner wouldn’t. I don’t know why her sister would want her at the wedding–but, then again, maybe she’s just trying to be polite knowing the homophobe would decline. If the woman would take advice from Pat Robertson I think her sister should know not to invite her.
