In today’s Miami Herald there is a Q&A with Sen. Marco Rubio. (R-Fla.), who many people believe may one day have a shot at becoming the President. Reporter Alex Leary asked him about recent comments made by Rush Limbaugh.
Q: Rush Limbaugh’s comments have become an issue, do you have any reaction?
A: “I’m responsible for the things I say. I don’t have an opinion about everything that happens in the world. I think that’s been dealt with adequately. He’s spoken about it, he’s apologized.”
Q: You don’t have any thoughts on that?
A: “No. I’m not going to comment every time somebody on the radio says something.”
Wow, Rubio doesn’t have any more guts than Mitt Romney. The Florida senator responded like a coward by refusing to stand up to King Rush. And the idea that he doesn’t have an opinion on this is laughable, considering he opines on virtually everything under the Florida sun.

I really wouldn’t call Mr. “King” per se. He does not have the market share of listeners his publicist claimed he ever had. I’d say he’s more like a knight. A knight very much like Don Quixote, chasing after windmills and trying to live in a bye-gone era that never existed.
Rubio seemed like he made a decent choice. I mean on the other hand, TWO is an organization that has an obligatory blog post when some random dude masturbates in public. I still fail to see how that relates to ex-gays and LGBT activism…
Probably because you failed to read the Wayne’s commentary and the blog in general, Richard. You should have stopped after three words in that last sentence.
Rubio made the wrong choice, Richard. He chose to defend the clearly indefensible. The guy who had that public meltdown that you mentioned has dealings with known hate groups ( a villainous breakdown of sorts), and therefore deserves public humiliation. He was not just some guy. You do not put the lives of one group in jeopardy to “save” (have people fund your persona– err, charity) another l, then throw your hands up and say ” the end justifies the means” . There is no excuse.
Well Edward,
I did indeed read both posts(“Kony 2012 Campaign Co-Founder Detained For Drunken Public Masturbation”, “Stress Turns Fundies Into Sex Fiends”) before having read this one. The former was about a guy, again doing what was described, and the latter was a pretty weakly written post, drawing very tangential conclusions and making a stab at Newt Gingrich. I’m a conservative (hence the convenient “Wing-nut” title), but I don’t even like Newt. His personal life is enough of a stab to himself as it is. And the whole John Paulk thing, which I think is mentioned around here at least once a week.
To Aulton, Jason Russell’s group RECEIVES money from a large variety of Christian groups, including those deemed dubious around here. That means the “hate groups” actually have LESS money than before they donated. That’s a good thing, right? Because if they didn’t accept the money, there would be less funding for Invisible Children, and potentially more money sent to vicious groups in Uganda.
