separation of church and state? really? I thought that meant that the government is not supposed to be involved in the church because that’s the churches’ job, and the church is not supposed to dictate the law because that’s the government’s job

Items that make me say “Poe:” the asides about physics, Venezuela, the Grover Cleveland obsession, naming Jefferson and Franklin first in the list of the Founding Fathers besides the Taco Bell argument and the too far gone Freudian slip. On the other hand he REALLY looks the part.
I went to the video on YouTube. He’s getting a lot of insults as one would expect, particularly on YouTube. A lot of so-called preachers have joined, made some videos, were incinerated and flipped their little lids but his replies are the same gentle, well dogonnit style as the video no matter what is said. Also, his total activity besides posting the video were seven comments on other videos which all suggested people watch his video. Hmm…

I have no idea if my posts are getting through – others I’ve made have not appeared, and I’m not sure why — but –
You do not know the evangelical movement, that is often true — I was in the movement for several years when I was younger. I escaped thankfully — and at least partially because I KNEW on a personal level that what they said about gay people was false, and that helped me to look at the rest of what they said rationally.
The fact that the young man seems to have some intelligence does NOT mean that the post wasn’t genuine. I had read well over a thousand books already when I was absorbed by the movement after my parents’ death when I was 14. That the kid knows history, some science (through an evangelical lens) and believes that all the founders were Christian is appropriate for a fairly intelligent evangelical young man. Seriously, it is. I would, at 18, have made the same arguments, without the racism (I’m Northern) and been equally peaceful about it.
The racism and related Taco Bell comment and Freudian slip are absolutely appropriate to the background culture that is evident throughout.
So, could it be a leader? Sure. Any video could be. Is there any evidence whatsoever that it is? Not if you have any knowledge of the community from which he appears to come.

I think this is a joke. Its well done, but in the end, I think it is a parody. Poe’s Law is well demonstrated here!
Although it is tempting to heap scorn on this child, I feel more pity for him than anger. He’s truly a victim of hardcore evangelical indoctrination and until he is allowed to see the world, as it really is, his life will be one of ignorance and darkness. I wouldn’t wish that on any child.
@Paul Douglas, I hope you’re right, that this is a joke but something about it rings genuine to me, and that’s what bothers me so much.
