Here’s a new argument. Sometimes when you write about gay issues every day, especially as they relate to Religious Right bigotry, you experience quite a bit of deja vu. “Haven’t I written this story, fifty-eight thousand times?”
Anyhow, here is Pat Robertson commenting on the story of a man who tried to pray and marry away the gay, then ended up having affairs with men on the side, as so many people who try to pray/marry away the gay do. Is it because they’re simply gay and shouldn’t be married to women? No, says Pat.
It’s demons.
Boo!

The most uncool thing ever…Pat Robertson using the word “cool”

Does Pat Robinson look broken? I would say yes. Why does he focus so much time on gay life and sex? Does he have gayness in his blood?
Sorry Patty boy but there are no demon’s, no angels, no devil and of coruse no god. Patty boy are you demon possessed? How can I believe in something that doesn’t exist. You see your mind plays tricks on you and even when you are dying it continues to play tricks. If you don’t believe me look through the internet and find the studies because they do exist.
A person can live without a god(s).
Aye-yi-yi! The man is living on another planet.
Good old Pat. It would be easy to laugh the jerk off, but its nonsense like his that fuels a lot of the hatred of GLBT in this country.
I really think he’s suffering from some form of brain deterioration-he even SOUNDS like he’s having difficulty talking.
I’d feel sorry for him, except for the fact that he’s, you know, loathesome.
@Bill Hating everyone and everyone around him for as long as he has, does seem to be seriously detrimental to one’s health.
Well, that and living a lie of course.
Religion Related to Delusion Possession, Says Richard Rush
According to Robertson, gay men being gay is related to demonic possession, but deals with Liberian warlords for gold are godly.
Well, angry anti-gay activist Robertson would be the expert on demonic possession!
Robertson looks & sounds like he’s ready to take a nap.
Face it, Robertson is fading as time passes on. This man offends me with his theology, even w/o the anti-gay rhetoric. In the end, he will have to answer for playing judge and jury!
Evan Hurst, demons are very real. You mock Christian warnings about the demonic realm at your peril. True Christians are the only ones who are given the power to cast out demons. Mark 16:17. No one else on this earth can help you.
Oh no! Charles the Troll is back. What is it with fundies? All they ever talk about is ‘the enemy’ meaning Satan & demons. It is so much easier to blame everything on earth on some demonic power than on their own ignorance & misunderstanding of the bible. I imagine Charles the Troll watches Robertson every morning & actually believes his nonsense.
Wow! Dig the deep intro Pat gives it, “Trolling the streets for cheap sex!” Good Lord! I should hope it was free. Demons – now his is something God can deal with. Cheating on your spouse is wrong, but, as usual, a fundie does not see that the wrong started with the society that condemned this young man for being gay and driving him to do something he shouldn’t have done – marry a woman. He may very well now live a life faithful to his wife, but, and it’s a big BUT, he will never lose or change his orientation. The desire for men will always be there. She shouldn’t be surprised if, at some point in the future, he seeks that company again. And Charles B., I believe in demons ’cause you are possessed by one. Such nonsense.
So the Magrathean defends this scoundrel who thinks nothing of doing business with war crminals? Not surprising, but a bit of advice, should you be willing to listen. Find better spokesmen. Assuming you can, of course.
