My OUTLoud cartoon last issue was about the revelations (old news now, yes I know…) concerning NOM’s wedge politics strategy. Like Nixon’s so-called “southern strategy”, inciting American against American was and is a tool for winning elections, employed by people who don’t actually care about their country, they just want power. Even if it’s power over a society that is coming apart in mutual hatred. When someone from NOM complains to you about the downward drift of social mores, laugh in their face and tell them they’re the moral sickness this country is suffering from.
The endless obstructionism of the GOP whenever the Dems are in power and especially since the ‘Muslim from Kenya’ took office is evidence that the vast majority of the cons really don’t give a damn about America nor the quality of life for the average person.
The GOP has become the “Party of No”, to anything that might help the disenfranchised, protect the environment or promote plurality and acceptance across cultural lines.
Obstructionism and obfuscation are clearly the marks of present day repuplicons. Truly, the “mark of the beast” as the fundagelicals like to say.
Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
The evangelical, fundamental christianists are desparate for absolute power (that’s their theology – see dominionists).
The end justifies the means for these religious terrorists.
