My OUTLoud cartoon for the next issue. Rick Warren was venting again the other day about same-sex marriage, and as usual he hung his cheapshit prejudices on the same line they all do over in the kook pews…
Well, if the Bible is the word of God, then I don’t have the right to change it. Policies come and go over the years. And so if I’m unpopular for certain beliefs, well, then I’m unpopular for certain beliefs. And to me, the Bible is very clear that sex is for a man and a woman in marriage only.
(Emphasis in the original article) The bible says a lot of things Rick. And it says a lot about the man you are, that to you it’s all about striking out at the stranger, the alien other, and not about loving them. Who is your neighbor Rick?

I distrust those who know so well what God wants them to do, because I notice it always coincides with their own desires. ~Susan B. Anthony~
The problem, little ricky, is in one word.
“IF”.
And you said it.
“And to me, the Bible is very clear that sex is for a man and a woman in marriage only.”

“Well, if the Bible is the word of God, then I don’t have the right to change it”
So you advocate killing women who aren’t virgins on their wedding night, people who don’t worship your god, disobedient children, witches and psychics? You think slaves should obey their masters and that pork and shellfish are “abominations”? Or is it only the portions you agree with that are God’s unchangeable word, while others are negotiable?
Those who use ‘religion’ to justify their power-status in life, are, by definition, religious terrorists. They will stop at nothing to obtain their goal of religious dominance.
