1. Gays and lesbians are roughly 10% give or take a bit of the ENTIRE of the world’s population and ALWAYS have been. 90% heteros isn’t enough?

2. Gays and lesbians are universal to all human life and history, regardless of culture, family structure, ethnic variance or orientation of the parents. Evidence that it’s biologically innate and morally neutral. Religious belief has proven to be very destructive and abusive of millions throughout human history. A valuable distinction you’re not acknowledging.

3. Scapegoating the mysterious and different is a tradition among primitive, barbaric and illiterate masses. More enlightened, educated and morally rational people understand that we ALL live in the 21st century and that human beings have benefited from progress in integration, equal justice and understanding of each other. Why make gay people exceptions to that as if strangers to our race?

4. The real moral values are of compassion, kindness, courage, creativity and intelligence and honesty. There is no evidence that homosexuality constricts or renders gay people incapable of or immune to all those things. In other words, heterosexuality is not necessary for everyone, and is no standard of CHARACTER or virtue. It’s merely a COMMON sexual orientation, not one of RIGHTNESS or HOLINESS.

5. Apparently our Creator made a world of immense variations and diversity. The Creator didn’t want to be bored with us, or each other. Gay people, bi’s and asexuals all belong too. That you don’t want to believe it, speaks to YOUR arrogance and assumptions, rather than what nature intended and continues.

6. SINGLE heterosexuals, shouldn’t have to compete with gays and lesbians for spouses. Gays have their own matches made in nature, and hets have theirs. There are less gays anyway, and finding their own matches to share life with, would be harder anyway.

7. I’m sick of presumptive people like YOU interfering with the rarer and interesting minority of gay people and trying to make them like everyone else under threat. Think about the function of the thumb and the fingers. The thumb is a minority too. Acting in complete opposition to the fingers. But the hand is less strong and skilled without it. Gays and lesbians are a GIFT from God that we become powerful allies. There is no benefit to discriminating and cutting off gay people from the same rights and protections everyone else has. Especially when they are already law abiding, responsible and contributing citizens. It’s a moral contradiction to benefit from gay people in this why, while at the same time VILIFYING them.

How did it even get published? And now Archives of Sexual Behavior will not print a retraction? Makes one wonder.

I’m sorry to be indelicate — but do you have any idea how your posts look to an outsider who isn’t part of your particular version of the “True” church? I strongly urge you, for your own sake and your families to consider what is going on inside you — and perhaps consider why.
