This video, of a woman testifying against, um, p-e-n-i-s-e-s and gays and declaring that gays molest schoolchildren because the kids don’t have AIDS yet, and also that Hillary Clinton became gay in college due to rohypnol, went viral today, but I wasn’t around to post it because I’m dealing with a sick puppy.

The way these things work at most city halls, is they have a period for citizen testimony. Anyone who lives in the municipality can testify – in this case for 5 minutes. It doesn’t matter how certifiably batshit loony you are you are still entitled to testify for 5 minutes, as long as it’s on a relevant topic. A lot of places allow a period of general testimony for any and all topics prior to or at the end of the city council meeting
Obviously, in a huge city like NYC, LA, etc., that model won’t work, but Lincoln, NE is a medium sized city, so while cumbersome (as in this case), it’s usually a workable model.
It bears mentioning that the woman behind her, seated next to the young man laughing his a*s off, if a P-FAG mom who spoke very eloquently. There’s a YouTube video of that as well (I posted it on John’s Facebook wall.)
Okay, I know this is off topic and a couple of years late, but I am still LMFAO over the unfortunate tic that John Stanback from the ex -gay expose “Chasing the Devil” has. Let’s face it: she has courage like no other. I certainly couldn’t do this knowing what I would sound like to ‘normal’ people. Is she perhaps seriously representative of the general public? I’d have a devastating headache if my brain did this kind of jet speed thinking.
If nothing else, she speaks to the quality of their mental health system. It’s obviously woefully inadequate.
She mentioned that all college students should live in single sex residence halls in single rooms. The expense of converting existing rooms surely would not make college even less affordable, would it?

Merlyn I believe you are right. I was not sure what Patient Zero meant exactly but after looking into it on epidemiology sites it is the first patient from whom the disease spreads to others and to whom the spread can be traced after time has passed and the epidemic has expanded. Robert Rayford (Robert R) was the first known AIDS fatality in North America (died in 1969) but no spread of subsequent cases can be traced to him, so that would eliminate him as Patient Zero. I think. ?
