Oh, hate group leaders are so oppressed. They are also censored, because we are taking away their free speech! Thanks to the good folks at Right Wing Watch, who actually download and listen to the podcast interviews Porno Pete does with the rotating list of his five best friends, I can censor Porno Pete and Brian Camenker of MassResistance by reprinting their words verbatim, and also mocking them. From their interview:
LaBarbera: Brian Camenker’s website MassResistance, that is hate, because they don’t like that Brian Camenker opposes homosexuality. This is the world we are living in and I think it’s tempting to laugh at it but if they keep going our First Amendment rights will be gone.
Yes, Camenker’s little outfit is a hate group, and so is Porno Pete’s, partly because they have a habit of maliciously lying about an entire minority group. If it was just “opposing homosexuality,” Focus on the Family would have made the list, but they haven’t yet.
Camenker: There’s no question about it and that’s what they want. They want that to happen.
But Brian! If we censor people like you, we lose the joy inherent in mocking people like you. Half the liberal blogosphere would have to shut down!
LaBarbera: They can’t handle a free and fair debate, where we can just talk about ideas, they have to censor everybody who opposes them?
Which one of our blogs has a comments section, Porno Pete?
Camenker: The problem that they have is that homosexual behavior in it of itself, to put it bluntly, is generally repulsive to large numbers of people if not everybody. In order to normalize this in any way there has to be this constant stream of propaganda.
Okay, this is weird. It’s striking to me how much these guys cling to the “ick” factor that they incorrectly imagine people have when it comes to gay sex. Firstly, as we point out all the time, it’s more than a little bit strange, not to mention prurient and behaviorally stunted, when people are absolutely obsessed with what kind of consensual sex other people are having. I have many friends who are couples, straight and gay, and I can honestly say that the thought of them having sex with each other really doesn’t cross my mind.
But the other thing is this. I was talking to a straight guy the other day who I’m very close to, and he remarked that it’s really, really strange when people say they’re “repulsed” by gay sex. True revulsion tends to exist on a plane related to desire — as in, those who scream the loudest about how “ewwwwwww gross!” they think gay sex is tend to come off as people who are trying to convince themselves and others that it’s not really what they secretly want. On the flip side of the coin, actual heterosexuals, sans hang-ups, tend to look at gay sex and react more along the lines of “meh, not for me, but whatever floats your boat.” That’s a healthy reaction to sex that you are not having.
Here’s the weird part comparing homosexuality to racism:
Camenker: Homosexuality is unnatural and you have to have, just like you had to have the Jim Crow laws to keep the races apart, you have to have these laws and diversity trainings and constant propaganda to keep it going.
Yeah, no. The truth of the matter, a truth that people like Porno Pete and Brian Camenker cannot face, is that it’s not really propaganda that’s changing hearts and minds. It’s the fact that we’re coming out in numbers never before seen, and even regular, garden variety conservatives are supporting equality in larger numbers, because they know and love LGBT people, in their families, their neighborhoods, their churches, their workplaces, etc., and it’s really hard to continue to believe bigoted Religious Right crap about us when the negation of said crap is sitting across from you at the dinner table.
So that little attempt to conflate gays with racists didn’t work very well, did it?

I think a significant number of heterosexuals are not as ‘repulsed’ by gay/lesbian sex and these two seem to think. Lesbian encounters are standard fair in porn for straight guys and back in the 80s when video stores were first opening up, a female friend of mine who worked in one told me that she was surprised at the number of women who took out the gay male porn.
that should have been ‘fare’, not ‘fair’.
Gary – Not to mention to large amount of lesbians that watch and get turned on by gay porn as well. A gay friend of mine and his lesbian sister are always swapping videos. None of my lesbian friends can explain that phenomenon to me either. It’s one of those mysteries that may never be explained.
If they really want to play the victim card, then they should kill themselves and leave behind notes blaming the gay community for their deaths. Then, borrowing a page from their operating manual, we can cluck sympathetically and say that we hated their words but loved them.
But what I’ll settle for is them shutting their poisonous yaps.
I just want them to be more self aware, Michael.
“repulsive to large numbers of people” which probably explains why every straight porno bring out the lesbian scenes. I also find gay male porno hot, and I am also unsure as to why. I noticed that in the mainstream movie “The Kids are Alright” the lesbian couple portrayed in the film watched the boys get it on too! so I feel a little less wierd.
“Homosexuality is unnatural and you have to have, just like you had to have the Jim Crow laws to keep the races apart, you have to have these laws and diversity trainings and constant propaganda to keep it going.”
Is it just that I haven’t had any coffee yet or does that not make any sense?
Buffy, it doesn’t make any sense.
WAITWAITWAIT. I think I found a way for it to make sense. Camenker must not have had his coffee because I’m sure he meant to say: “HOMOPHOBIA is unnatural and you have to have, just like you had to have the Jim Crow laws to keep the races apart, you have to have these laws and BIGOTRY trainings and constant propaganda to keep it going.”
See? He just messed up two words.
I really believe that the reason why a lot of people are homophobic is because they are squicked out by sex between men or they are insecure about their own sexuality.
I would be squicked about heterosexuality, I suppose, if I actually bothered to think about it. Just like fisting nd prince alberts. But I really don’t have time to lend much time or energy thinking about something I’m not interested in,
Funny, I don’t spend much time talking about the things that repulse me. I usually try to put them out of my mind. That Petey spends so much of his life fixated with homosexuality..it’s all very strange to me.
When homosexuals, in thier minds, inhabit an essentially less than human realm of being then they eel pulsed beacause it is the very idea of icky stuff that allows them to create the subhuman category into which we are put. Indeed it is an autosomic connection – it pops into their head automatically because that is how the category is made.
When straight people get to know LBGTI people then they move from a dehumanised realm to …. well, an ordinary realm of being in which one doesn’t even have to try NOT to think about what type sex another person is having…. the ‘respect’ curcuit kicks in by itself.
THese people are trappaed – some are repressed, some are not but all are victims of their own world view, condemned to see gay sex all around them. And the thgouhts grew more stronger for them they harder they fight gay rights.
Maybe we should have pity for them….. meh…. no.
Sorry about typos.
Personally I think it’s funny how no one actually listened to the interview. This one quote had very little to do with the main topic of the interview and was like usual, taken out of context to make the opposing side look bad. Why doesn’t anyone ever comment on the stuff like gay education in schools on these sites?
Andrew, the “gay education in schools” consists almost exclusively of 3 or 4 lone mentions of gayness in schools across the U.S. over a period of about 10 years that the anti-gay right repeats endlessly in a dishonest attempt to portray that as commonplace. There is virtually no discussion of gayness in schools.
I have always wondered how one can be “against” homosexuality when it is a condition of the human species? Heterosexuality is in the same boat – an immutable part of the human species. It’s like being against the fact that dogs bark or cats meow – they are immutable characteristics particular to those animals. You may not want your dog to bark, but it is a part of him. Homosexuality, like heterosexuality, is a non-changeable part of some people. Digest that fact, please, all you hateful liars.
massresistance.org seems to display otherwise. Lots of facts saying the latter lynn.
Andrew, “seems to” is the key phrase. Massresistance.org has no qualms about lying and distorting the truth. The facts you refer to are far from “lots”, they’re isolated incidences that themselves have been blown way out of proportion by the anti-gay bigots. If you were to look into the specifics of each of those you’d see the truth is far different than what bigots like massresistance portray it to be.
Mass resistance saying anything is the equivalent of saying David Duke said something utterly ridiculous
You’re telling me you actually believe MassResistance.org? What next? You’re going to link to WorldNetDaily or something?
@ Gary. I think you’re right about most heterosexuals are not as repulsed by gay or lesbian sex than idiots like LaBarbara and Co. would like to think. This is also shown in the popularity of sites that feature “slash”. I knew of straight women who just adored Horatio/Archie slash.
As always, Pete and his ilk don’t know what the hell they’re talking about.
Lesbians kinda turned on by the thought of two guys doing it? Wow, glad it’s not just me. I can’t make sense of it. Maybe I just prefer to see a guy with another guy than a guy with with a girl, ’cause I want the girls to get together and..
“22.Lesbians kinda turned on by the thought of two guys doing it? Wow, glad it’s not just me.”.
I find that fascinating – sure wish I understood it.
Kind of goes against that whole “gays can’t change” stance, doesn’t it?
What does, Andrew? And in what way?
“Lesbians kinda turned on by the thought of two guys doing it”
Kind of goes against that whole “gays can’t change” stance, doesn’t it?
No Andrew. Some people are turned on by both sexes, some by only the same sex. Neither can stop being attracted to the people they are attracted to. You can’t take a lesbian who is turned on by the thought of two guys together and convert her into someone who isn’t attracted to women. You can’t take someone who has no opposite sex attraction and create an opposite sex attraction in them.
Exactly how, Andrew? I’m still not attracted to men. The only porn I would truly be interested in involves just women.
The hypocrisy and self delusion of homosexuals is really astounding…
Andrew, I think you meant to say “bigots” not “homosexuals”. Right? (This is my optimistic voice speaking…)
Bigotry excels at projection without being aware of it, as evidenced by Andrew’s behavior.
I’ll spell it out for you who are mentally stunted. Most mental professionals agree that sexuality is fluid, and it does change over the course of a lifetime, as evidenced by bonnie’s post. Sexuality can and does change, despite what the hypocritical claim.
Andrew that is a lie. Most mental professionals agree that sexuality is outside a person’s control. Bonnie’s post demonstrates that just fine. Sexuality is not chosen despite what bigots like you claim.
Andrew, you’re either incredibly clued out or just plain dishonest. The vast majority of mental health professionals believe sexuality is fixed and attempts to change have very little chance to succeed. This is the stated position of every major medical and mental health organization.
Bonnie’s post in no way demonstrates that she’s changed in any way. I don’t want to speak for Bonnie, but I’d venture to say she’s always been turned on by the thought of two men together and its a guarantee that she always will be. As her post suggests, this may have nothing to do with her finding men sexually attractive but rather be due to the idea that two men together indirectly means two women together and that is what is sexy.
I am bisexual, I’ve always been bisexual and always will be bisexual. My orientation is not fluid, I cannot stop being attracted to either men or women. My sexuality will never change.
There has never been any evidence that anyone has changed orientation but there are huge numbers of people who’ve tried desperately to change and failed to do so – it just doesn’t happen.
