No, not kidding. Here, from the DC Republican Committee, which is like DC’s version of a state party:
Yesterday, the DC Republican Committee (DCRC), the DC equivalent of a state party, became the first Republican state party to insert inclusive language into its party platform leading up to the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida. Under the heading of ‘Family and Marriage,’ the DCRC added, “We, the Republicans of the District of Columbia support the belief that all individuals, without regard to sexual orientation, are entitled to full and equal protection under the laws and the Constitution and that everyone has the right to be treated with dignity and respect.”
All right then! And good for them.

Sweet, 1 down 50 to go. Do you think they would travel to Texas and help the Republican party there develop a better platform?
The District is about 75% Democrat. This is a desperation move that ultimately won’t have much impact.
Does anybody remember how Willard Romney was pro choice and pro LGBT when he was running for governor of Massachusetts? Same republicon tactic. Until they renounce the behavior of their fellow coreligionists in republiconism, I will never believe they are telling the truth.
