We have seen over the past few years, as we have reached the tipping point where full equality has become inevitable and the sort of wingnuttery that seeds anti-gay hatred and violence will be relegated to Ku Klux Klan status on the not too distant horizon, that the leaders who remain in that movement will stoop to any low in order to feebly attempt to reverse the course of history. They will lie any lie, smear any smear, in order to inject hatred against LGBT people into the discourse and to demonize us in any way they can.
In that vein, they are of course using the heinous crimes committed by Jerry Sandusky in an attempt to engender hatred against gay people among the most ignorant citizens of this country.
Here’s one:
Dianne Gramley of the American Family Association of Pennsylvania tells OneNewsNow she believes the Freeh report shows how strong the campus culture is surrounding major football teams.
“We have to just look at what happened when head coach Joe Paterno was fired and the riots that took place on campus [as a result],” she tells OneNewsnow. “I mean, that reflects the Penn State culture and almost the worship of their football team.”
That sounds eminently sane. Wait for it, though:
“Through all this we cannot ignore the fact that Jerry Sandusky’s victims were all young boys. We can’t ignore the homosexual aspect of this,” Gramley offers. “And through Graham Spanier’s tenure as president, he has brought more and more homosexual-oriented programming and events to the campus than ever before.”
There it is. That’s why the AFA is called a hate group. Earth to Dianne, and I know your kind doesn’t like knowledge, but bear with me for a moment: pedophilia has absolutely nothing to do with sexual orientation, according to every grown-up expert in the field. Rape has little to do with sex, but everything to do with power. One reason many child abusers end up hurting children of the same gender is access. Hello, Roman Catholic Church. How’s it going? Sit a spell and maybe you’ll learn something too.
Nothing like this is complete without failed Allstate dude/Christian clown college “lawyer” Matt “Bam Bam” Barber, with his petulant breed of juvenile hatred:

God, it’s like he and Dianne read the same outline before commenting. Here it comes:
Adds Barber: “There also is an element of political correctness run amok here,” he explains. “Anytime homosexuality is involved — even though in this case it’s a homosexual predator preying on children — people seem to have this innate fear that they are going to be crushed by the sexual anarchist lobby if they speak out against it.” Yet Barber says it is a fact that percentage-wise more sexual crimes are committed against children by homosexuals than by heterosexuals.
You know, I really don’t think there’s a single decent person in this country who is afraid to speak out against child rape, Bam Bam. What’s disgusting, and what really shows how little you care for the victims, is the fact that you’re using these traumatic experiences, endured by children, in order to try to score points against an entire minority group. Also, your remark about percentages is BS and you know it. Or you should know it, if you read. Do you read?
Morality called, Bam Bam. It would like to tell you a little bit about itself and see if there are any parts of it you’d like to try on for size.
So let’s see, gee, even though Sandusky is heterosexually married, has children, and has grandchildren, he is STILL homosexual.
But wait, isn’t that what Barber wants us to do? To marry the opposite sex and have children so we won’t be homosexual anymore? Let’s see how well that worked out for Alan Chambers (et al).
Also, Sandusky was a heterosexual non-child molester UNTIL the president of Penn State “brought more and more homosexual-oriented programming and events to the campus”? Wow, just wow.
It’s funny how one can make a snap “decision” and go from hetero to homo (and by extension, child-molester) almost instantly, but despite years of therapy/prayer/etc, and intense struggle, it appears to be impossible to go back from homo to hetero.
I think what Gramley intended to say was, “Through all this we cannot ignore the fact that Jerry Sandusky’s victims were all young boys. We can’t ignore the homosexual aspect of this [like we would ignore the heterosexual aspect if the victims were all young girls].”

So Sandusky would NEVER have molested those boys if he hadn’t been exposed to the increasing amount of homosexual “programming” (whatever the hell that means) and events on campus. Yeah, RIGHT – tell me AGAIN what planet these people live on.
I’m sure Sandusky had never met a homosexual IN HIS ENTIRE LIFE until the university president intervened. (snark)

Sandusky is not gay. Sandusky is a pedophile who abused boys because they are the children he had the easiest and most frequent access to. The “homosexual aspect” of these horrendous crimes exist solely in the minds of anti-gay bigots who will stop at nothing to vilify LGBT people.
I think it’s unfair to the female victims of child abuse for these fundie groups to ignore them and focus on abused boys in order to try and blow up cases like the Sandusky case into ‘homosexual problems.’ And, though it’s been brought up many times, it bears repeating that the exact same crimes are ignored, covered up, and excused when committed by the Catholic church. No, they clearly don’t care about the victims. If these groups cared at all about human dignity, they wouldn’t even exist.

I think morality has quit trying to contact Bam Bam. Basic humanity might still be calling but I think he screens their calls.
From what I recall 95% of child abuse is by men against young girls — and 80% of those men are relatives of some sort, with ready access to the young girls. So I would guess that if they weren’t pushing all that hetero-centric programming they wouldn’t have all that hetero child abuse. But of course, if a tree falls in a forest it’s because gay men are allowed to live in peace. We’re responsible for earthquakes and hurricanes and pretty much everything else bad on earth, don’t you know.
I’m not sure where those statistics come from. The one’s I’ve researched a few times over the years tend moreto this.
Perpetrators: 97% male, 3 percent female.
Victims: 10to 30% male. the big spred is because we can only be sure of the 10% . It seems to depend on who does the counting. Female 70 to 90%. same caveat.
Perpetrator: 75% of the time, the perp is known to the victim. 75% of that, the perp is the father, step father, or surrogate. In short 50% ofthe time, the man who would be described as hetero in terms of his interests and experiences is responsible.
Gay men, according to Dr. Nicholas , basically don’t turn to children. Heterosexual men do, and those who are full time child molesters do.
