The male hierarchy CAN’T allow women to have authority or power because the Catholic Church just might become the type of institution it’s SUPPOSED to be. Heaven forbid–we can’t have that!

Read the link to Father Nugent’s silencing. The labyrinthine theology and tortuous thought that leads to his final submission (?!) to this Constantinian anachronism of medieval history is breathtaking. What an unmitigated waste of human energy.
How any thinking person can spend 15 minutes bothering with theology escapes me. And I was a practicing christian for almost 40 years.

Isn’t she beautiful? Sometimes, the wisdom of compassion and the courage of love can shine right from the faces of some people.
I’ve been aware of her and reading about her for a very long time now.

And…I look to her for inspiration. More women really should be priests.
The Church’s influence would have more likely looked like a compassionate one, instead of one of power mongering.

Exactly Reese. Nuns should run the Church since most of them seem to ‘get it’. They know what it feels like to be treated like a second class piece of &hit and are much more christ-like than those miserable old dictators in Rome.
