Folks, this is hugely important.

SB1172 is a bill proposed by the California State Legislature to ban the use of Sexual Orientation Change Efforts (SOCE)—commonly known as ex-gay therapy, conversion therapy, or reparative therapy—with minors.

Wayne, thank you so much for your support of this bill — SB1172 — banning ex-gay therapy with minors in the Sate of California by licensed psychotherapists. I believe it’s the most important petition to sign of my life too. It will be going to the California State Assembly very soon and showing signatures of support for the bill will be instrumental in its passage.

Yes let’s deny much needed treatment to help those who are clearly confused and need help. Good idea.

Yes, Frank, maybe some do need help, but in those cases it is GENUINE help that they need, not abusive and bogus “therapies” aimed at changing their sexual orientation, which doesn’t need changing, and at making them hate their natural sexuality. Such psychological abuse of gay minors is liable to have long-term effects which are pretty well indistinguishable from those caused by the sexual abuse of children. Let’s have no more of it.

I note that PFOX are most dishonestly – how unusual for them! – trying to make out that this bill would prevent children who have been sexually molested from receiving appropriate therapeutic treatment.
