The Family Research Council’s disgraceful war on LGBT people and their families marches on, even as the group loudly protests being called a hate group. They have even fooled some gullible journalists, such as the Washington Post’s Dana Milbank. Hey, Dana, take a gander at what FRC sent my family in the mail today. Is this hateful enough? Or, maybe they tricked you because they wear suits and have offices in DC. Here is part of the FRC letter:
The most dishonest part of this propaganda is the blatantly false notion that social science backs FRC’s agenda. Maybe right wing political science is on Tony Perkins’ side — but that’s about it. When FRC’s Perkins targets a minority group and makes broad, sweeping, and unsubstantiated claims about the deleterious effects of their marriages on society, the group is engaging in raw, unambiguous hate speech. It’s really not debatable and takes one with a blind spot the size of Saturn not to see this garbage for what it truly is. I wonder what FRC defenders like Milbank would say if FRC’s direct mail piece said the following:
“Allowing Jews to marry is unfair and harmful to children, traditional Christian couples, churches, society as a whole, and a threat to the freedom of speech and religion of anyone who disagrees with the Jewish movement.”
The fact it’s hate speech is pretty damn clear now, isn’t it, Dana?

What I don’t understand is how they continue to lie when proof that they are in fact lying is no further than the 49th parallel. Canada has had gay marriage for almost 10 years and surprisingly, not polygamy, not man on dog marriages or incestuous ones at that, just everyday life going on as it should. After 10 years you would think, if Perkins’ and his theories were true, something would have come up…….but nope. Nothing. Nada. Just boring married couples doing what they do. Raise families, have BBQ’s, pay their taxes and live life. Oh, and by the way, during all that time, we elected a conservative government who also thinks it’s long past time to move on. Tony et al, take the hint already.
They continue to lie because that his how they make their living. Not a very impressive thing to have on one’s resume. I can’t see what Perkins, et. al. will do once FRC is thoroughly investigated, discredited and folds after the trial for fraud.
Maybe they can sell swampland in Florida, broken down used cars, or panhandle at stoplights.
I’d enjoy rolling up my car window when they stick their hand in looking for a hand-out, then watching their futile effort to pull out their hand that’s caught in the window as I accelerate and merge into traffic on the expressway…..
PJB, you are right. It has always worked. Give the ignorant masses a common enemy and they’ll give you money. It is truly a great way to make a living. No work involved, just lie with ever increasing emphasis on the horrible dangers to their “way of life as they know it”. Use God as the excuse for your anger and determination to stop the enemy and you’ve got it all going for you. In most dummies’ minds, God is the keeper and they all know His ‘will’.
Oh Jon, Jon, Jon: don’t you know that EVERYTHING about your benighted winter wasteland of a country points to the Eeeeeeeevils of Godless Socialism? “Teh Gays can get married there, AND get free guvmint health care: it’s a nightmare!”
;-X
I still ask the question and am still waiting for an answer: How does gay marriage hurt marriage at all? I am just as married regardless of whether or not you marry a man or a woman or neither for that matter. Your marriage has zero impact on mine. Mine has zero impact on yours, so…I wait.
Someone is clearly channeling Mordin Solus

The speech is by Kirrahe originally, but Mordin references it a couple of times in the later games.
Lane I have been asking that very question at HuffPost and other venues and I have yet to get an answer. This is why it is all so ridiculous. My having married my spouse has NO affect on any straight married that I am aware of.
