Less than a year after comparing the President of the United States, Barack Obama, to genocidal German dictator Adolf Hitler — an outrageous and inflammatory comment that resulted ESPN yanking his trademark theme song from its Monday Night Football broadcasts — crackpot country singer Hank Williams, Jr. took his Obama hatred to new levels last weekend when he listed the President’s “[love for] gays” as a reason to revile him.
Williams peppered Sunday’s performance at the Stockyards Music Festival in Fort Worth, Texas with several anti-gay remarks. The Dallas Morning News reports:
“We’ve got a Muslim for a President who hates cowboys, hates cowgirls, hates fishing, hates farming, loves gays, and we hate him!” Williams said, as the crowd let out a loud but less-than-unanimous cheer.
The 63-year-old singer began his anti-gay commentary a few songs earlier, mocking “queer guitar pickers” in the middle of “All My Rowdy Friends Have Settled Down” before moving on to his next target: Liberal politicians, who he told to “move to Mexico” at the end of “We Don’t Apologize For America.”
It’s very interesting that the disgraced singer chose to cite the president’s support for LGBT equality in his effort to paint Obama as someone who holds un-American views. It’s not all that surprising, however — frankly, Williams is just saying out loud what many on the anti-gay right think privately.

What an ignorant piece of $hit! He probably rants at empty chairs too like Clint Eastwood.
The deep sorrow is that his dad was (and is) one of the historic legendary icons among country music singer-songwriters. Hank Williams Sr. died before age 30 from the effects of acute alcoholism. He wrote and recorded “Your Cheating Heart”, among his many other musical accomplishments. It’s really sad to see his son losing the thread of his father’s stellar accomplishments.
