Since an extra smile is always a good thing on a Monday morning, I thought I’d introduce all of you to our new dog. She was rescued by a Vermont nonprofit group from a high-kill shelter in Elizabethtown, North Carolina. They think she may be a corgi-terrier mix, and that she’s probably about three months old. She adopted Michael and me on Friday evening and came home with us on Saturday, joining Wayne and Jamie’s pooch Doinkers and cat Critter as the furriest members of the Truth Wins Out family. As you can imagine, we’re completely smitten.
Here she is with Michael on Saturday:
She’s also clearly an equality-minded puppy, as evidenced by the fact that she’s already working hard for the cause:
Incidentally, this beautiful creature doesn’t have a name yet. We don’t want to rush into things, so we’re going to see which names seem to fit her and then try them out to see which ones she responds to.
Any suggestions? Let me know in the comments section. Happy Monday morning, all!

I’d go for Smith or Jones.
Omg she’s so cute I just CAN’T STAND IT.
Some suggestions: Minnie, Lulu, Rosie.
Princess Consuela Bananahammock.
How about Fee-fee or Fru-fru?
What a doll. Thanks and bless you for getting a rescue dog. My sister got one from MS and the poor thing had been shot TWICE (bee bees–compassionate conservatives at work), and had a cracked hip from getting hit by a car. She is doing very well now and is happy and loved! :)
Peanut or Sweet Pea.
squeeee!!
Looks like she might have a breed or two in common with my own pound-puppy.
two ideas; “Leeloo Dallas Multipass” or “Nono”
My daughter has a corgi/terrier mix that looks a lot like yours. She is a sweet dog, but not very patient with small children.
Her name is Kizzie and it suits her well. She looks like a Kizzie as does your dog.
The cute. It BURNS!!!
Awww … let’s see …
Milky (for Harvey Milk)
Billy Jean (for Billy Jean King) – the initials BJ is cute but might get taken the wrong way.
How about Willow? My goodness, she is SO beautiful. I’m so happy for you!
What an adorable addition to the TWO family! I’d call her Brighteyes myself. She is just so cute! I’ll have to show this to my husband tomorrow when he gets home from work. And thank you for getting a rescue pet. Maybe she have many happy years with all of you!
