Rep. Michele Bachmann is simply crazy. She seems desperate to take America to war with as many Muslim countries as possible — possibly at the same time. Here is her latest conspiracy theory that debuted today at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, DC. I took the video with my i-Phone, so it is a tad shaky:
Unbelievably, last December they succeeded, with both President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s help, because they pushed through the United Nations the passage of U.N. Resolution 1618, which called upon all countries to enact laws preventing derogatory references to Islam – a clear violation of our First Amendment freedom of speech. And even before that, in October, last October, many prominent Islamic organizations wrote a letter to the White House, where they urged our White House to do a complete purge of any federal materials from references to the ideology of Islam, to ensure that all trainers in our U.S. military, our FBI and other U.S. security agencies be retrained so they would be brainwashed in political correctness toward Islam. That’s enforced Islamic speech codes here in the United States, and all done with the help of our president and secretary of state. It took only days for the Obama administration to reply to this demand letter from the Islamists, promising to set up a task force with these same organizations to immediately begin this unprecedented purge of our counterterrorism training in every federal agency across the board. It’s breathtaking – never been done before.
But when members of Congress, myself included, started to ask questions about the identities of who these people were who were leading this purge in our government and what it was they were purging from our training materials, the Obama administration told us the information was closed; it was classified; we couldn’t know who was behind this. I’m here to say, my friends, that we’re now today very late in the game. We’re quickly losing our sense of who we are as a nation, and we’re losing our ability to identify our radical Islamist enemy. The time has come to stand unashamedly this week for our freedom and our values and draw an unmistakable red line for our enemies across the world. (Cheers, applause.)

In another creepy development, she seems to have ripped off Rick Santorum’s creepy hand fetish speech.
This is it. It is our hands that will determine the future. It is our hands that will determine if it is honor, duty, country. Now is ours. I believe we are worthy of the task, and nothing but the memory of the fallen should guide us.
We laugh because, well, she’s clearly crazy, but she’s got a lot of support from people who think just like her. A lot.
What I find most amusing is that by doing a quick Google search, going to the UN website and pulling the text of the damned resolution, the only reference United Nations Human Rights Council Resolution 16/18 (as in the 18th resolution of the body’s 16th Session) on Islam is that it notes the speech made by the head of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, an international organization of Muslim states that proposed ways to promote religious tolerance.
The resolution is religion-neutral as it only mentions the word “Islam” in the context of a speech that was made by the head of an Islamic group. Finally, the resolution was adopted without a vote, meaning it went to the floor on a vote, the Human Rights Council asked if there were any objections and was passed.
The UN Human Rights Council is not a paragon in the defense of human rights, and while Islam can be a very intolerant religion, the fact is that in this case, Ms. Bachmann definitely went off the reservation.
Not only are those hateful ‘filmmakers’ culpable, right wing bloggers stupidly postulated that Hilary Clinton was helping the Muslim Brotherhood win elections which resulted in her motorcade being pelted with tomatoes when she was in the Egypt recently. Unlike Vegas, what is said, done and written in the US does not stay here. The internet has become a perfect tool for haters and bigots to stir up radicals and create violence in the world.
I would laugh at her…
but, she is a congress woman.

Well guess what, that is exactly what the UN resolution did. The OIC 10 year strategy plan (2015) is to make sure all nations will be punished for any criticism of their religion. Check out their 10 year strategy on their website. Once again, attempting to get all nations to abide with the misguided Sharia Law. Are we that gullible that you think the Islamist are just mad about a UTube video, come on now think about it. They are punishing us for showing how intolerant their religion really is.

Kat, I agree that some Muslims would certainly like to pass blasphemy laws. But then so would some Christians.
