From a story in today’s New York Times:
“I grew up in a religious environment, and I’m proud of it,” Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas said. “I was going to be a priest; I’m proud of it
. And I thank God I believe in God or I would probably be enormously angry right now.”
What an interesting observation considering this paragraph in the beginning of the story:
Justice Clarence Thomas has not asked a question from the bench in more than six years, and he seldom appears in public in Washington, a city he says is full of cynics, smart alecks and people who have agendas rather than convictions.
Hmmm, good thing Thomas has religion because he doesn’t appear bitter at all. Not even a hint of anger. If I’ve ever seen a man at true peace without a shadow of a doubt it’s Thomas. Sometimes I even confuse his quiescent demeanor with that of the Buddha.

The people you truly need to be scared off are the ones who admit that that they would be out there murdering, raping and pillaging if the fear of eternal torture didn’t keep them from it.
He’s the most quintessentially unqualified jurist to sit on the court in the last half century. And his refusal to abstain from cases where his wife has a financial interest makes him a candidate for the most corrupt member of the SCOTUS as well. I don’t doubt that he’s a religious man. I simply think that the religion he follows is Satanism.
Only some sexual predators became priests.
Nah, Michael, Satanists wouldn’t stoop to THAT level.
Satanists (the real, non-occult kind) are actually atheists. Satan is mere a symbol for humanity’s darker impulses. They are basically hedonists, but not at the expense of others.
He’s arrogant, he’s hypocritical and he’s prejudicial. Sounds like he’s eminently qualified to be a shill of “conservative” values!
He is above all Justice Scalia’s puppet. No talk, just decide like I do.
