“Every Catholic Household in the State” is not what they really mean. They mean every household that has someone who regularly attends mass living in it.

Several years ago, the Archdiocese of Chicago called “every Catholic Household in the Chicago Area” to let us know about a new radio station. What they really did was call every person in the phone books whose name ended in a vowel. I and most of my friends who fell into that classification were scratching our heads and laughing about it a few weeks later because none of us had set foot in a church in years or even decades.
