I heard Kluwe interviewed on Stephanie Miller Show a few days ago, besides being very articulate, he’s (obviously) very intelligent and well-read. He said he can read an average sized book in about 3 hours. Damn, it takes me about 3 weeks.

Time and time again, I’m awestruck and very humbled by the gratitude and love I receive from the gay community for simply wanting each of us to have the same things. The same value, the same understanding and equal opportunity.
Very often, when confronted with so much anti gay stupidity and cowardice…I can say, what those people are missing in their lives. What paths of new experience and flavors that can be added to who they know and what they know.
This is not a matter of strangers we could have never known, but people who are and always have been a part of everything human and important to human need and progress. Like giving and receiving love, creativity and bravery…generosity and compassion, being a family.
It’s not the gay folks who should be thanking me, but me thanking THEM for so much experience, education, unconditional acceptance and the privilege to support them in this struggle for it.

Oh yeah…what the anti gay are missing…

I’ve read a few of your letters now, Chris, and you a very powerful writer. I sent a copy of one to my niece in Winona, a devout Catholic, who then wrote an equally strong letter to her bishop and sent it to several friends. It’s strong-willed, gutsy heterosexual people like the two of you who are the darlings of the gay community. Thanks ever so much. There’s no going back now.
