I am a teacher in Montgomery County and sent the following to local newspapers in my area for their "Letter to the Editor" section. It's interesting that most local papers only print those L to E that are against the anti-discrimination measure. Interesting.

Here is my letter:

I am writing this correspondence in support of Bill 23-07 which protects transgender individuals against discrimination in housing and employment.

Recently County Councilwoman Duchy Trachtenberg reported receiving threats, some of them threats of death, simply because she is one of many, many Montgomery County citizens who are proponents of equal rights and ANTI-discrimination law in Montgomery County. One member of Citizens for a Responsible Government (CRG), Sharon Kass, is reported being among the hateful and dangerous individuals who have been sending threats to Councilwoman Trachtenberg as well as Dr. Dana Beyer, a Senior Policy Analyst in Trachtenberg's office.

This group, Citizens for a Responsible Government, is owned, operated and maintained by the same people who compose Citizens for a Responsible Curriculum (CRC). According to Dr. Jerry Weast, who is the Superintendent of Montgomery County Public Schools, the CRC has wasted well over 500, 000 of hard-earned taxpayer dollars simply because health teachers can now tell students that being gay is not a disease and that tolerance of those who are different should be practiced.

Citizens for a Responsible Government want to use Montgomery County for their theocratic agenda and hate-based tactics and this should not be tolerated by the fair-minded citizens who live here. Hate is NOT a Montgomery County value!
