I knew him from my involvement with the Fresno-based "ex-gay" ministry 15 years ago. It was about 8 1/2 years ago that I realized that sexual orientation cannot be changed no matter how hard you pray or commit yourself to Christ. Since reconciling my Christian faith and sexual orientation, I've never been happier. Although media presented the other side to this story, I would have liked to have seen the history and claims of Exodus further analyzed. The founders of Exodus, Michael Bussee and Gary Cooper, eventually repudiated the dubious claims that gays/SSAs could change and apologized for the damage and confusion they caused.
