Only a few months ago, Tony Perkins rightfully was upset when a gunman came to the headquarters of the Family Research Council to presumably shoot members of his staff. He deplored violence and blamed the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) for labeling FRC a hate group.
Well, today we saw why that designation fits like a glove. Perkins said that if the Supreme Court legalizes same-sex marriage it could lead to a revolt or a revolution. What exactly does he mean by this? Groups like his are already lobbying, taking out homophobic ads, running campaigns to limit rights, and using the pulpit to spread hate.
What else is there left for Perkins to do in the event of a positive Supreme Court ruling — but resort to the very violence he condemned when his group was targeted? Perkins should explain exactly what he intends to do when the good news comes from the court’s chambers. As far as I’m concerned, he is egging on the more extreme elements in society to potentially engage in terrorist acts.

Is angry pro-homophobia lobbyist Perkins advocating/inciting sedition? As a real, patriotic American, I’m concerned with this. Should the FBI be notified?
I’m laughing at him. “This is unnatural, that is unnatural, blah blah blah” and the whole time he’s doing some pretty “unnatural” things himself, like wearing glasses, and broadcasting his voice and image over wires and airwaves. What a hypocrite!
This is a true call to violence though not worded overtly Tony has withered so much I barely recognized him in this vid. Could his vocal cords be next?
Tony Perkins is a vile, wicked man. He could be a true leader and show how to work with people despite their differences, but he would rather sow more strife and more division and blame those of us who are working for equality for that division. It’s a lot like punching a gay man in the face and blaming them for the bruise on his knuckles.
The fact that he would suggest that right wingnuts take up arms shows the depth of his depravity. Segregation now, and segregation forever! What will it take for the mainstream media to stop treating him as if he has genuine policy differences and not just another blowhard bigot who wants to see every LGBT person at the bottom of the ocean.
Incendiary remarks all the way, and in the passive aggressive wimpy way, indirectly suggesting that violence might happen and if it does he will understand why, and might support it. Similar to King Henry II back in the twelfth century loudly asking the air if only someone would please remove his foe Beckett from this life!! Of course his loyal knights immediately did so. Henry did have to suffer some sort of penance I think.
His bank accounts are drying up. Perhaps he should find another group of people to demonize in order to make a living?
