Video: Exodus is An Ex(tra) Gay Ministry

To his credit, Exodus International president Alan Chambers said:

The majority of people that I have met, and I would say the majority meaning 99.9% of them have not experienced a change in their orientation or have gotten to a place where they could say that they could never be tempted or are not tempted in some way or experience some level of same-sex attraction.

I’m not sure where that illusive, invisible .01% is at, but after watching this Exodus blooper video, I’m pretty sure that they don’t work for Exodus International, which is looking like an ex-tra gay ministry.

On a positive note, Chambers does look much happier than he usually does. It seems a little honesty has been good for him. Instead of taking down this video, as Exodus tends to do when they look a bit flamboyant, they should keep it online. Alan and Randy — it’s okay to be yourself. No, really, you are fine just the way you are.

When I first saw this video, I got the distinct impression that they were intentionally sending a message of self-acceptance to their audience. This is a big step away from the stereotypical gender conformity that “ex-gay” groups (including Exodus) generally push. The last step in their journey will be recognizing that God created them to love in a certain way and in denying that, they deny God’s plan for their lives. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for them.

Exodus International´s staff are showing theirselves as all the time they were: the employees of het homophobic protestants. Homohaters needed “ex homosexuals” to stop all the uncoming laws which would protect a large number of gay population. “Ex homosexuals” (ex gays) were only “straight for pay” dudes whom through money, had a big role in the protestant homophobic agenda. Homohaters philosophy´s is slowly or faster falling out. Homophobia is racism, and all the peoples around the world will stop christofascists, sooner or later.
