They'd never hurt us, they say. But as Wayne Besen knows, my former partner, Beecher Goodwin, on SSI for mental illness, lives with a straight conservative family in Surprise Arizona. Beecher's "friends", Kathryn & Stephen, have used his disabilities as a control device to stop Beecher from living a gay life or from having gay friends. Beecher's "born again" siblings, who openly say they don't want him to be gay, have supported and participated in this shameful scam. People don't realize how important Wayne Besen's work is. Many of us don't realize the insidious, evil things these ex-gay ministries do in the dark. We MUST stand up to them and stop them, so that what happened to Beecher cannot happen to others.
