The problem looking for a “gay gene” is that there is this idea that gayness is inheritable, that it’s passed down from mom to son, or dad to son — and yet, probably there is no “gay gene” — so much as there’s 2 half gay genes (which are present in all humans,) and a bunch of other genes (which don’t show up all the time) — and when the 2 halves meet (1/2 egg, 1/2 sperm) and sees all those other genes — it’s my contention that there is something wrong with those other genes — and nature knows it — so it sort of slops them to one place to be removed from humanity as a whole — and thus, gayness is necessary to humankind to rid an accumulation of bad genes — we are, in a sense, runts, or repositories of bad genes — and thus each gay man has a different group of bad genes — and a preponderance of them and the 2 halves, too, make a gay guy — and we are randomly distributed, but constant in percentage — showing that gene-wise, gay men are very necessary to humankind, but that it doesn’t come down in any linear sense — even if we wind up with the short end of the stick in our current miasma of thought on the matter — I’m sorry I can’t develop it more here, but it is something I explored more fully on my blog.

Tex, you might want to rethink that. It’s never better or healthier to have to hide who you are. I read that in India, elephants are tied to a tree as babies and after they get older the rope is no longer needed, as they will ‘know’ that they can’t wander off very far.
A bird that is kept in a cage will usually become comfortable and adapt to their home, to the point that they may feel insecure when out of the cage. Their birthright is to fly free. Don’t let homophobic bigots take that away from you.
