Truth Wins Out’s Executive Director Wayne Besen appeared on FOX news channel’s O’Reilly Factor to discuss Obama’s upcoming Big Gay Speech at the Human Rights Campaign dinner.
“Obama has a history of rising to the occasion in big moments,” said Besen. “I hope he realizes that such a moment is now and that expectations are very high for this speech. GLBT people are suffering discrimination throughout the land, and we hope he uses the power of his office to alleviate it.”

Good job, Wayne!
Great job Wayne with what he allowed you to get out. I just wish O’Reilly would learn to ask a question and then let you answer. I sometimes wonder why he has guests on when all he wants to do is interrupt. It would make for a much better interview if he’d let his guests talk.
Wayne, thanks for standing up for our community, especially your participation with O’Reilly. We’re proud of you.
Wayne is right on the money as usual. O’Reilly likes to hear himself talk you have to understand that. He does not want to hear anything that does not agree with his reality and there is no way you are going to even make a dent in his beliefs. He is not a news person ( I wouldn’t go so low as calling him a reporter either as the newspaper guild might get angry at the insult). O’Reilly like to think he is a spokeman for the “common” person.
Not only is he not a spokesman he makes an a** out of himself every time he opens his mouth. That is what happens when you become a poster child for the Republican party and the right wing characters (that is being generous).
wow, great job wayne. i admire anyone who will subject themselves to his lunacy on our behalf! but, the first time i saw you on bill’s show a couple years ago, i remember his utter contempt for you and anything you had to say. and i’ve noticed his softening with you over time, he’s more chill… which comes across as a form of some sort-of respect. been interesting to watch the change. his derogatory remarks are more “standard”, subtle and passive now (ugh).
Excellent. Wonderful to see you there.
Well done for standing your ground in the face of that blowhard O’Reilly. His mocking tone is reflective of his utter scorn for the gay community. I do think that the President needs to at soon to make good on at least SOME of the things he promised… even if ALL of it is not done at once (let’s face it, it’s not realistic to expect a wave of a magic wand to make EVERYTHING happen immediately), but some of the more important things DO need to be addressed soon. I am eager to see what will happen over the next couple of days… with the Matthew Shepard act looking fairly certain in spite of Republicans hating on the Act and the gay community again, maybe this is the start of some of the promises being brought to fruition. Let’s hope!
Excellent job Wayne, It’s obvious O’Reilly may be on our side as well, hmmm?
Wayne is so on top of things with knowledge and assuredness. Did I say he has the heart of a lion, hell, a whole PRIDE of lions!
Thank you Wayne. I must say, though, that Mr. O’Reilly is one of the rudest people on TV these days. He never really listens to what other people are trying to articulate. It’s always all about him. I applaud you for not telling him to clam up and listen for a minute.
Way to go Wayne…keep up the great work. I think he might have gotten your name wrong because he had a few “other” thoughts going through his head once he saw how handsome you looked.
Thank you all very much. Glad to be here at the March on Washington!
