The pictures on the Rentboy.com profile show a shirtless young man with delicate features, guileless eyes, and sun-kissed, hairless skin. The profile touts his “smooth, sweet, tight ass” and “perfectly built 8 inch cock (uncut)” and explains he is “sensual,” “wild,” and “up for anything”, as long you ask first. And as long as you pay.
That man was George Alan Rekers, of North Miami ‚Äî the callboy’s client and, as it happens, one of America’s most prominent anti-gay activists. Rekers, a Baptist minister who is a leading scholar for the Christian right, left the terminal with his gay escort, looking a bit discomfited when a picture of the two was snapped with a hot-pink digital camera.
“While he keeps a low public profile, his fingerprints are on almost every anti-gay effort to demean and dehumanize LGBT people,” says Wayne Besen, a gay rights advocate in New York City and the executive director of Truth Wins Out, which investigates the anti-gay movement. “His work is ubiquitously cited by lobby groups that work to deny equality to LGBT Americans. Rekers has caused a great deal of harm to gay and lesbian individuals.”
Reached by New Times before a trip to Bermuda, Rekers said he learned Lucien was a prostitute only midway through their vacation. “I had surgery,” Rekers said, “and I can’t lift luggage. That’s why I hired him.” (Though medical problems didn’t stop him from pushing the tottering baggage cart through MIA.)
Well, one thing is for sure, it does seem like Rekers has baggage. At least Rekers wasn’t on the Appalachian Trail.

So he did exactly what anyone else would have done in those circumstances: he hired a guy from Rentboy.com to help him. At least it makes a change from “I was doing research for a book that I’m writing.”
In view of the harm that he’s done to the gay community, I’m really glad that he’s been rumbled.
Thank you for what you do Wayne, publicizing these frauds & hucksters is very important. Have you put up a post with the name of all the “ex-gay” folks who have came out as gay, been caught cruising for men, and anti-gay activist who have been caught in gay acts? It seems the list would be quite long & useful to those of us who want to show the hypocrisy & failures of the “ex-gay” and anti-gay movements.

Given where he found Lucien and Lucien’s profile it is laughable that he would claim he didn’t know Lucien was a prostitute.
Rekers is an officer of NARTH and is connected to Dobson (who is most famously associated with Focus on the Family).
He also has a connection to Exodus International. Exodus International also published and sold a booklet by Rekers called “Prevention of Homosexuality” that is excerpted from Rekers’ book titled _Growing up Straight_ (published by the Moody Bible Institute).
This man has seriously harmed the legal rights of gay people. In addition to helping ban adoption by gays in Florida (upheld by the US Supreme Court in 2005, by the way – this point boasts from the NARTH website description of him), Rekers testified in court against gay adoption in South Carolina two years ago, and this is what the judge said about his testimony (the citation for that is below):
“Dr. Rekers’ testimony was far from a neutral and unbiased recitation of the relevant scientific evidence. Dr. Rekers’ beliefs are motivated by his strong ideological and theological convictions that are not consistent with the science. Based on his testimony and demeanor at trial, the court can not consider his testimony to be credible nor worthy of forming the basis of public policy.”

And Rekers thinks gay people are unfit to parent children?
Rekers’ behavior (and all of these organizations) toward gay people is reprehensible. How do they look at themselves in the mirror? How could they possibly believe theirs is a loving God? They have made him in their own image.
I am not sure if this is still his current e-mail address but I sent him a note to: info@professorgeorge.com asking him if he really believes that he can be cured and this was a slip up or if he is merely a greedy, power hungry hypocrite pandering to the Religious Right and misleading scared & confused parents & children.
