Kimberly Daniels, candidate in the runoff for the At-Large Group 1 City Council Seat has the attention of a couple national activist groups. She has been called to end her run by a group called Truth Wins Out because of comments she made regarding homosexuals, Jews and slavery. But a different group, the New Black Panther Party.
“We warn the white community, and other conservative groups, that we won’t sit idly by while another black leader, and especially a black woman is threatened,” said a spokesman for the party during a downtown rally on Friday.
About a dozen people watched as the party announced its endorsement of Daniels. Members also had a direct message for the members of TWO:
“If any harm comes her way, or any other black people, we will definitely respond and the consequences will be severe.”
TWO founder Wayne Besen said, “It just shows that she’s unfit for office if she’s going to align herself with a radical extremist group like the New Black Panther Party.”
Attempts today to reach Daniels were unsuccessful. It is unclear whether she wants or approves of the support from the New Black Panthers The spokesman said she did not reach out to the organization, which had decided to endorse and support her on its own.
One would think that if the aim and mission of the New Black Panthers has a goal of benefiting humans, then it wouldn’t need threats of violence to carry out the mission. How sad that is the level they will resort to make their point.
If the point is worthy of making, it shouldn’t need violence to make it.
Who said it had anything to do with race? As far I know no one has! Its her bigotry towards gays and Jews that is getting her in trouble not her skin color.

Kimberly Daniels is not qualified for public office because she is stupid, ignorant, superstitious, and bigoted. And now the NBPP rushes to her defense simply because she is black. So the message is that a black person is entitled to be immune from criticism by a white person, and that “the consequences will be severe” if that entitlement is violated.
I am unsurprised. Fringe groups will use anyone or any means to get themselves into the news, e.g., the Phelps asylum. Don’t these idiots realize that there are plenty of worthy black women who should be running for office, and that just because someone has a certain melanin content in her skin and totes ovaries and a uterus doesn’t entitle her to blanket approval by others merely because they share some of her characteristics? Apparently, they also share her ignorance, stupidity, and lack of imagination — threats? Oh, wait, Ms. Daniels has a rather wild imagination. My bad.
A bit odd that the Panthers would endorse a candidate that said, “Thank God for slavery.” it makes no sense and contradicts their stated mission.
I’m confident that the vast majority of African Americans think Daniels is insane and reject her outlandish rhetoric.

What a bunch of a******s. No one has threatened Daniels in any way, she’s being opposed solely with legal non-violent methods and these losers have to threaten violence to stop that because they can’t compete with intelligent discourse.
The “New Black Panthers” are a joke. I’m pretty sure Fox News created them as a boogey man. I think they consist of 2 or 3 members.

Bigotry homophobia and hatred know no racial barriers. If gay bisexual black men and women came out of the closet and demanded acceptance for themselves as they are, rather than being on the downlow, the bias so markedly evidenced in their community would be as repulsive as racial bias is among whites.

Given the threatening tone of the “warning” to Truth Wins Outfrom the so-called New Panthers and the disclaiming of any association to this apparent group of renegades by http://www.blackpanther.org/newsalert, I would hope that Mr. Bessen has brought this to the attention of the FBI and appropriate organizations whose job it is to protect the citizenry from such threats, whether made overtly or covertly.
It is not the fact that she is black or that she is a woman that makes her an unsuitable candidate, I know a lot of black women that are excellent leaders; its the fact that she’s a bigoted-uber-Christian psychopath that is troublesome. Now, I can understand how they might mistake the issue, since there have been lots of white bigoted-uber-Christian psychopaths elected to office – they may feel it is their due to have some black psychopaths elected to office to balance things out. But they’re just gonna have to take one for the team and find a candidate that has two functioning brain cells to rub together and support her instead. I think it is an excellent idea to elect a black woman to public office, because it offers a fresh perspective in an area that is often dominated by white men. BUT NOT HER.
