Have you noticed that for the past couple of years I have not appeared on the same television or radio shows as Exodus International’s Alan Chambers? There is a good reason for this — it is because the sniveling coward has instructed producers that they will lose access to all “ex-gays” if TWO spokespeople are interviewed.
As of today, four trusted media sources have confirmed that the strategy of the flailing “ex-gay” industry is to blacklist Truth Wins Out. We have learned that the despicable conspiracy is spearheaded by Chambers. Clearly, this is because he can’t hold his own in a real debate and wants to handpick his opponents, so he won’t look like the pathological liar and fraud that he truly is.
What terrifies these charlatans is that Truth Wins Out has institutional knowledge and can quickly challenge their blatant misinformation. They simply can’t get away with lies when we are there to debunk their phony claims. Because they cannot defeat our message, they have tried to decapitate the messenger. This speaks to the weakness of their arguments, the low character of activists such as Chambers, and a lack of confidence in fending off credible allegations of consumer fraud.
We urge all producers to act in an ethical and professional manner and not allow Chambers and his underlings to choose whom they debate. That would essentially be allowing Chambers, and other wimps like PFOX’s Greg Quinlan, to stack the deck. By letting this happen, producers are in collusion with the “ex-gay” industry and harming the LGBT movement.
The scurrilous effort at blacklisting TWO will only lead to us redoubling our efforts against these thieves who rip off innocent people and take their hard-earned money to offer “change” that will never come. Our mission has been to counter these fakes. Due to these audacious efforts at undermining our work we have recommitted ourselves to explicitly putting these cowardly SOB’s out of business as quickly as possible.
Mr. Chambers — I promise you that your sleazy, immoral, and underhanded efforts will severely backfire.
Where are all these “ex-gays” to whom they will lose access? THAT is why TWO gets blacklisted? Lots of backbone heading these shows.
So, here’s Alan carrying out God’s will year after year, worshiping Him, and praying to Him, and yet God doesn’t even have the decency to show some gratitude by giving Alan the one thing he’s always wanted above all else: heterosexuality. It truly demonstrates “the power of prayer,” doesn’t it?
A prime example of why, in the end, we will win. Their arguement is based on half truths, distorted facts, twisted logic, irrationality, archaic superstitions, willful ignorance and blatent outright LIES!

If Alan Chambers is truly heterosexual, why doesn’t he label himself as heterosexual. I mean, isn’t that his whole intention? To be heterosexual??
So why create a new label for himself called ‘ex-gay?’

well, maybe we should get all these producers to do a mass interview with Evan and/or Wayne and then Chambers and Exodus won’t be able to sell their snake oil.
I’d be more interested in knowing the hows and whys of Mr Chambers apparent executive power over these “shows” and the “producers” et al associated with them.
MY guess is said media types and programs are as anti-gay, homophobic, anti-truth, anti-science, pro-Leviticus, anti-equality etc. etc. etc. as those in NARTH, NOM, AFA, FotF, Concerned Women For Amercia, Chris Barron and GOProud, FRC, TVC, WBC, Traditional Values Coalition, Liberty Counsel, Coral Ridge Ministries, AFTAH, Abiding Truth Ministries, American Vision, Dove Outreach Center, Faithful Word Baptist Church, Knights of Columbus, Pope Ratzinger, Bill Donahue, Bradlee Dean, The Tea Party, The GOP, Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, Rick Warren, Eddie Long, Senator Diaz, Anne Coulter, Fundamentalist Jews/Muslims/Christians, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. and so on and so forth, blah, blah, yadda, yadda, ad nauseum.
THAT being the case, TWO will NEVER get invited on. It’s contrary to their interests and anti-gay agenda.
I don’t think the problem is that the producers are anti-gay. The issue is that it is difficult to do a show on “ex-gays” without live “ex-gays”.
While there are no shortage of LGBT spokespeople, there are few “ex-gays” because they don’t exist outside the corporate headquarters of Exodus and those directly affiliated with the program. There is also the understanding that “ex-gays” are good TV and provide the “freak factor” that boosts ratings. They are essentially a man bites dog story.
Thus, Chambers has some leverage. Although ethical and professional producers will not stand for it. They will tell Chambers to take a hike and make it clear that he does not get the luxury of choosing his opposition. Unfortunately, there are a lot of producers who don’t uphold such high standards.
I hope that Alan Chambers will remain at the head of Exodus International for as long as that organization lasts, which, please God, won’t be all that much longer. The more we see of his shifts, prevarications and word-spinning – not to speak of his body-language, which only the most undiscerning person could fail to find suspicious – the more he shows up the “ex-gay” movement for what it is: a despicable hoax.

Frankly, I don’t understand half the stuff these supposed “interviews” really accomplish, when they are all trying to shout over each other. Why not have the opposition on two different days, back to back, where they can be asked the exact same questions, and/or respond to their opponent, without being interrupted. The Jerry Springer-Maury Povich-Ricki Lake-Geraldo Rivera shouting at each other and throwing chairs on tv talk shows era needs to end. Actually, it needed to end 10 minutes after it started. It really accomplishes little good, if any, and – I speak only for myself here – makes me “tune out,” both with dial position and walking away from such confrontations.
All such talk/interview shows or where one side goes “up-against” the other on the exact same program truly aggravates the crap out of me, and makes people look like truly class-less bimbos. If that was all there is on television, I wouldn’t own one. Thank God, that’s not the case, however, I truly do wonder HOW MANY OTHERS FEEL THE SAME WAY?
@Wayne: Well I’ll certainly buy into the premise that there are many producers who don’t uphold high journalistic standards.
And it may all make for good freak show ratings, but the results have rather unfortunate real world consequences in the lives of, at the VERY least, questioning GLTB youth, and those who know and indeed, have INfluence in their lives.
Oh well, the love of money an’ all that. Gotta keep the revenue stream flowin’; keeps the lights on, pays the mortgage, and gets the kids off to some type of higher education which when balanced against social conscience and accountability, trumps the latter every time it appears.
So have these trusted media sources caved to this clown’s demand? Or are they just passing the info on that this is what the clown is demanding?
