On this beautiful snowy morning, Jamie Brundage and I got married at City Hall in Burlington, VT. We had an amazing Justice of the Peace, Gloria Gil, (pictured below)who was just incredible and made the ceremony at her home a joyous occasion. She has a wonderful cat and a really cool exotic bird too – and they get along.
So….It’s official — I’m hitched!!!
I met Jamie, who is originally from Cairo, Nebraska, five years ago in New York City online and the rest is history. We will be having an exciting party in the summer when Vermont is pretty and green. Thank you to friends and family (Shout out to my mother and father and grandma) for your love and support. We greatly appreciate it and it means a great deal to us.
And a major THANK YOU to the marriage equality advocates in Vermont and at the national level, particularly Freedom to Marry founder Evan Wolfson, who made this dream-like day possible.
So, here’s to hoping I’ll be a better husband than Newt! :)

Congratulations and every wish for a long and happy life together!
OMG!! Congrats you two!!

Congratulations!
Wayne,
I am 60 yars old, was married 22 years to a woman, was among the extreme right wing religious crowd for that period of my life, have one child 34 years old, was divorced in 1997 and found my current partner in 2001. My experience with the right was not all bad; some of them actually do love their mates, their children and commit their lives to wholesome life styles. They generally ascribe to us wholesale an inability to be faithful to a spouse. I wish for you and your new partner the fortitude to see it through, all the way; I believe that with our new found liberty comes great responsibility. Let’s model the truth of the love we espouse. Best wishes to you both.
We are so happy for you guys and love you so much- couldn’t have happened to a sweeter couple. Mazeltov and Congratulations my loves! Lisa & Jen
Awesome, congrats!!! I wish for many happy years together for both if you. f**k Newt!
Yeah!!! :-D Congratulations!!!
[...] husband Michael and I, along with Wayne and his husband Jamie, are only two married couples among thousands in the state of Vermont and across the country [...]
A much belated congratulations, Wayne and Jamie! Though I have to extend some sympathies to Wayne – marrying a Cornholer can be an exhausting experience (ask Jamie). GAWDS, I haven’t been to Cairo in over 20 years, and I think that was just a pass-through from a cousin’s farm near Ravenna on the way to G.I. But sympathies and congratulations aside, I wish you both love and joy in each other… from one Cornholer to another. *smirk*
Mazel Tov to both of you. I wish you a long and happy life together.
